Cainiao and Deutsche Post DHL Group (hereinafter referred to as D HL ) announced that D HL will acquire part of the equity of Cainiao's Polish subsidiary. The two parties plan to jointly invest 60 million euros in the first phase to continue to build a local distribution network and further expand the coverage of the smart self-pickup network , aiming to build the largest self-pickup network in Poland. Cainiao Chief Strategy Officer and General Manager of Europe and Southeast Asia Xiong Wei and DHL e-Commerce Solutions CEO Pablo Ciano signed the contract.
Poland is one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in Europe. According to D HL data, the size of Poland's e-commerce market is expected to double by 2027 , and 40% of consumers prefer to use self-collection cabinets to pick up packages. In recent years, Cainiao has been accelerating its logistics layout in Europe. For example, Cainiao has previously opened a distribution center in Warsaw, Poland, and has initially formed an overall logistics infrastructure in Northeast Europe. The distribution centers can work together to achieve sorting , packaging and transit, and finally deliver to consumers through terminal home delivery and self-collection outlets , further optimizing logistics timeliness .

As the first step of the cooperation, Cainiao and D HL will merge their existing self-collection cabinet networks in Poland and jointly operate the existing 1,200 self-collection cabinets. At the same time, based on D HL's existing self-collection points in Poland, the two parties plan to continue to expand the self-collection cabinet point network and lay convenient and easy-to-use intelligent self-collection cabinets at key locations. The ultimate goal of both parties is to build a leading self-collection network in Poland and further upgrade the first and last kilometer logistics services. Currently, DHL has covered more than 90,000 self-collection points in Europe.
