Building a virtual shopping mall: Shopee and Singapore's IMM reach a cooperation

To cater to the accelerated development trend of e-commerce brought about by the global epidemic , Shopee has introduced Singapore’s largest direct sales shopping mall, International Merchandise Mall (IMM), into its platform.


It is understood that the launch of the IMM virtual mall on Shopee is an initiative of Singapore's Smart Commerce Action Alliance to help Singapore retailers transform their business models to seize opportunities and accelerate digitalization.


IMM ’s virtual mall is the first virtual mall on Shopee, which will bring new revenue streams to retailers through online business and one-stop brand enhancement .


Through the virtual shopping mall, IMM retailers will also gain other online marketing opportunities to increase revenue.


Shopee’s chief commercial officer Zhou Junjie explained that IMM retailers will be able to increase visibility and immediacy on the Shopee app through a variety of tools that retailers can leverage, thereby benefiting from user base and marketing support both within and outside the Shopee app .


For example, Shopee’s in-app search is one channel IMM retailers can conduct SEO and SEM to allow users to easily discover their products.


Outside of the app, IMM retailers can leverage Shopee ’s marketing ecosystem by incorporating offline advertising solutions into their overall online marketing strategy and running trackable campaigns including Facebook Collaborative Ads and Google Shopping Ads .


Additionally, through Shopee’s affiliate marketing solution, IMM retailers are also able to engage Shopee users and the platform’s partner network to promote their products.


Shopee ’s various shopping festivals can also effectively bring more traffic and visibility to IMM retailers.


Throughout the marketing funnel , IMM retailers can also leverage tools such as homepage banners, Shopee Feed, Flash Deals, EDM, push notifications, Shopee Live, and more to market their products to Shopee users to increase awareness and build customer loyalty .


From a macro perspective, the cooperation between the two parties may provide meaningful new insights on how to innovate omni-channel retail business models to integrate the physical and digital shopping worlds, which will also bring more revenue to retailers and a better shopping experience to consumers.
