Recently, M.Video-Eldorado, a Russian home appliances and electronics retailer, released its first quarter financial report this year.
The financial report shows that the retail group's GMV (gross merchandise volume) increased by 13.8% year-on-year to 138.3 billion rubles (about 12 billion yuan).
Among them, online sales have become an important driving force for the group's development, especially the sales of its mobile applications. Data shows that the retail group's total online business increased by 62.8% to 92.4 billion rubles (about 8 billion yuan), accounting for 66.8% of the group's total GMV, which can be said to occupy half of the market.
At the same time, the total turnover of mobile application sales increased by 90.3% to 56.7 billion rubles (about 4.9 billion yuan), accounting for 61.3% of the total online sales. The total turnover of its official website platform increased by 32.5% to 35.7 billion rubles (about 3.1 billion yuan). The number of goods traded through self-pickup increased by 71%, and the number of deliveries increased by 68%.
As part of the development of the mobile platform M.Video, the group launched the OneRetail order service in 150 offline stores in March this year. The store consultant in the mobile application will create orders with consumers and edit and pay in real time in the client.
The retail group said it has identified 18.8 million active customers, of which OneRetail customers account for more than half, or 57.9%. At the same time, the number of OneRetail customers has grown by 63.6%.
M.Video-Eldorado has been focusing on digital transformation. In the first quarter of this year, as part of the digital transformation, the group accelerated the transition from centralized IT functions to the development of IT products in each department. The development of customer and internal services is carried out by 124 product/project teams, and the number of developers has increased by 1.5 times since December 2020, making it possible to speed up several trials.
In addition, the group is expanding its geographical coverage with a new format of retail stores, Eldorado 250. The group has opened 50 stores of the new format in 50 regions, 43 of which are the first for the group. The investment in this format is three times the cost of traditional chain stores. In the next three years, the group expects to enter 200 cities. Russia |
