What are the toys Americans want to buy most this holiday season?

Affected by the epidemic, people spend most of their time at home, and both adults and children need entertainment to relieve boredom, so the popularity of toy products has remained high. As Christmas approaches, the sales of toy products will usher in a new peak.

Nostalgia is sweeping the toy market

Recently, the research organization For Sale released a list of the top ten most popular toys in the United States during the 2021 holiday season. They compiled this list based on Google's search data for toys over the past 12 months. The specific rankings are as follows:

1. Lego: 76.4 million searches ; 2. Barbie: 45.9 million searches ; 3. Nintendo: 38.9 million searches ; 4. Funko! Pop: 25.1 million searches ; 5. Squishmallows: 24.6 million searches ; 6. Beyblade: 21.9 million searches ; 7. Playmobile: 18.8 million searches ; 8. Nerf: 18 million searches ; 9. MyLittlePony: 17.8 million searches ; 10. Uno: 17.7 million searches.

Most of the toys on this list are products of established toy manufacturers, such as the top three Lego, Barbie and Nintendo. Lego has always been a favorite of children and adults of all generations, with a total of 76.4 million searches. Most children's parents have been exposed to these toys in their childhood, and these toys are still popular today. Buying these toys will make parents feel nostalgic at Christmas.

Second-hand toys are popular

Like other industries, affected by the supply chain crisis, the toy market this year is also facing shortages and price increases. Second-hand toys are becoming the choice of more and more families. Therefore, For Sale also released a list of the most popular second-hand toys. These toys are also popular, but they may cost a lot of family budgets or cannot be purchased in the short term. Parents hope to get these products cheaper and faster. The specific list is as follows:

1. PlayStation 4: 722,500 searches ; 2. Nintendo Switch: 498,000 searches ; 3. Bicycle: 492,400 searches ; 4. XBox One S: 454,200 searches ; 5. PS4 Controller: 109,800 searches ; 6. Scooter: 63,600 searches ; 7. Nintendo Switch games: 62,500 searches ; 8. XBox One Controller: 61,700 searches ; 9. PlayStation Five: 58,080 searches.

It can be seen that almost all the products on the list are of higher price. When the price increase trend spreads to various industries, even if the products are bought for children, price has become an important consideration for parents when purchasing.
