Some sellers, in order to avoid risks, have done brand registration themselves, and it took more than ten times to pass.
The brands on sale have also been impacted. The main link brand front page of the seller's US site has been tampered with. At the same time, the removal of multiple brand permissions continues to occur, and the seller's entire site brand has been directly removed. Some service providers have complained and quoted 20K, but there is no clear success rate reply.
Seller brand registration has not been approved for 2 months
Recently, many sellers have found it difficult to pass brand registration. Some have failed to pass the registration five times in a row, and were told that the name did not match the brand. Some sellers have registered more than ten times and it took one and a half months to pass. This kind of problem is not an isolated case. Many sellers have reported that brand registration has been stuck many times recently.
When it is difficult to pass the registration on their own, some sellers look for service providers to register for them, hoping to pass it quickly. However, they are unaware that the registration process with the service providers is not smooth either.
One seller said that he had tried to register his brand with a service provider for two months but it had not been approved, it had not been approved for the whitelist, and he could not even create a link.
According to the reply, the reason for the rejection of the registration is that the trademark must be permanently fixed on the packaging and products, please provide the necessary images that meet the standards. The seller printed the logo on the packaging, and the product pictures provided when registering the trademark did not work. Now he is trying to print the logo on both the product and the packaging, and the service provider said that real photos must be used.
It is understood that there are many sellers who are stuck in the picture link of brand registration , and many peers were prompted that the pictures did not pass the registration. Some sellers who passed the registration shared their experience: 1. You must have pictures from different angles, about four or five pictures will do; 2. Try to take pictures of the product with your hands, you can show your hands, the background should not be a solid color, and the picture should look more realistic.
In terms of brand registration, many sellers think it is not wise to find a service provider to do brand registration. As long as you find a service provider, there will be certain risks. Don't hold on to luck . If you want zero risk, just register yourself . If the registration fails, try a few more times. With more attempts, you will definitely be able to register successfully in the end.
"Don't ask the service provider to register. Many of them use their own accounts to register and then authorize you, which may cause brand association or Amazon to settle accounts later." An industry insider introduced.
Some sellers even said frankly that based on Amazon’s recent account blocking operations, there are risks in any contact between sellers and service providers, so they must find a reliable service provider.
While brand registration is difficult to pass, brands on sale are also facing crises, and some sellers' brands have been ruthlessly tampered with.
The seller said that the main link was in the United States, and Amazon automatically synchronized the main link to Canada. The shopping cart in Canada has been declining in the past few days. This is because products shipped from Canada through FBA are usually followed by others, and the category is small with few orders, so it was about to be abandoned, so no one paid attention to it.
After a few days, I found that the front page of the main link brand of the US site had been changed, and the category had also been changed. When I entered the backend of the United States and Canada and wanted to change the brand, an error message appeared. The brand name of this ASIN could not be changed. Multiple brands were uprooted, and the service provider appealed and quoted 20K
While the registration difficulty is ongoing, the problem of Amazon brand association, sellers’ multiple brands being uprooted and accounts being shut down continues to erupt.
From the beginning of September to now, the brand removal issue has been irritating sellers, and sellers' brands have been removed in recent days. One seller said that the brand permissions were removed, and the brand was directly removed from the entire site. Two hours later, the authorized sub-account received a notification and the brand was also removed.
Amazon sent an email notification indicating that the reasons for the brand removal may be the following :
1. One or more users on the brand engage in behavior that violates the Brand Registry policies, such as but not limited to submitting invalid notifications through our notification submission channels or tampering with the catalog; 2. One or more users on the brand are associated with other Amazon accounts or brands that violate Amazon or Brand Registry policies; 3. Failure to provide sufficient brand evidence on products and packaging; 4. One or more users on the brand have a deactivated sales account; 5. The trademark application appears to have been filed by an applicant company that may have violated U.S. federal regulations and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rules.
After receiving the notification, the seller conducted a self-examination based on the above points and was able to confirm that the brand had no illegal operations, the account had no performance issues, the store was not authorized to be used by the service provider, and there was no brand abuse. In the end, it was determined that the brand was removed due to problems with the American Standard's agent lawyer, and the European site was also implicated.
So the seller decided to change the attorney first and then file an appeal. He first searched for a law firm recognized by Amazon, then communicated with the account manager and listened to the manager’s best plan. He screened two law firms for consultation in the IP accelerator and was told that changing attorneys would not change the current situation.
Given that there are many sellers who are troubled by brand removal, the price quotes for appeal services from many service providers are getting higher day by day. In recent days, some service providers have quoted as high as 20K, and the current quotes range from 5k to 20k. There is no clear success rate reply, the cycle is long, some do not accept, and most IP accelerators do not accept. It is generally recommended to change the brand through them. Some sellers even said that some service providers have not responded to messages in the past two days.
It can be seen that it is not easy to appeal. Some sellers have appealed for half a year without any results. It is recommended that if long-term appeals are fruitless, you can prepare a new account as a backup and do not delay it for too long. Try not to run out of stock for the listing, otherwise it may be merged as a zombie at any time.
Along with brand removal comes brand association. In September, Amazon brand association sweeps occurred twice. Last Saturday, Amazon raided the accounts again, and one seller lost 14 accounts in one night.
Experienced sellers have summarized the reasons that lead to Amazon brand association scanning, including: first, a brand is used by multiple stores, as long as one store has a problem, it will trigger an association; second, a brand is used by a single store without authorization. If it is copied by others, the copy-selling store is frozen for illegal operations, and the store is associated with the copy-selling store, which will also trigger an association; finally, a store has no brand and uses the service provider's whitelist to upload products, which will also cause association with unknown stores.
In terms of appeal: 1. If you are linked to an account you don’t recognize, you can ask Amazon to give the company name of the linked account, firmly deny any connection with that company, and ask the Amazon specialist to forward your communication records to the relevant team for review. 2. If you are linked to an account you know, cancel the brand authorization or delete all links to the authorized brand, and write an action plan to appeal. Provide the specific factors that led to the association in the appeal letter, show that you understand Amazon’s multi-account policy, and explain that measures have been taken to ensure that all accounts operate in compliance.
Under the Amazon account scanning incident, sellers are all in danger. Some industry insiders believe that in the future, single stores and single brands must be established, and the store must have a legal person, preferably someone close to you, to prepare for triggering various audits in the future; the brand should preferably be a self-registered TM mark.
Brand problems are frequent, whether it is the initial brand abuse or brand authorization that triggers related number scanning, in fact, they all point to one problem: Amazon's brand supervision is getting stricter and stricter.
