Russian retailer Magnit receives 50,000 online orders per day

Russian retailer Magnit's retail business is slowly gaining momentum.

Recently, Magnit , one of Russia's leading retailers, announced that it has now exceeded its goal of 50,000 online orders per day . This record number of orders was achieved on September 26, 2021. The last "milestone" order was generated in Moscow for 1,974 rubles.

It is reported that at the end of June this year, Magnit only processed 15,000 online orders per day. In three months, the number of Magnit 's online orders has tripled, which is enough to show the rapid development of Magnit's e-commerce business.

Magnit is one of the leading retailers in Russia. As of the end of June , Magnit had 39 distribution centers and 22,344 stores in 3,802 towns in seven federal districts of the Russian Federation . In terms of e-commerce business, the retailer 's service scope has covered more than 2,000 outlets in 106 cities in 62 regions of Russia , and 61% of these online orders come from areas outside Moscow and St. Petersburg.

As of the past three months, Magnit 's online order volume has grown by an average of 6 % to 7% per week. In the second quarter of this year , the average amount of each online order of Magnit was 1,200 rubles, which is three to four times higher than the same indicator of Magnit's offline physical stores.

Magnit has been actively deploying its e-commerce business. In the second half of last year , Magnit began testing e-commerce services internally in cooperation with Yandex. The company's own e-commerce service was launched in November 2020 and operates in 63 regions of Russia .

Since the beginning of this year, Magnit has opened 11 mini dark stores (outlets that only fulfill online orders) in Moscow to support the development of its online services. By the end of this year, Magnit plans to increase the total number of dark stores in Moscow to 20. It is expected that by the end of 2021, Magnit's e-commerce services will cover more than 4,000 stores of all formats across the country .

Magnit executive Lukashevich said: "Our e -commerce business has achieved great results in a relatively short period of time . As early as December 2020, the daily online order volume was only 7,000. By September of this year, we had increased this number more than sixfold. "

Lukashevich also revealed that Magnit is actively expanding its partnerships with industry leaders, while Magnit will continue to vigorously develop its own delivery services.
