Zalando expands Connected Retail Partner Program to France

Shortly before Easter, Berlin-based German online fashion retailer Zalando plans to expand its "Connected Retail Partner Program" to the French market. From now on, products offered on the Zalando platform can also be purchased in physical retail stores in France .

It is reported that the plan integrates online and offline and is centered on consumer experience. By opening the Zalando platform, merchants can connect their inventory to the website and accept orders at any time. Orders can be shipped directly from physical stores and support same-day or next-day delivery.

According to e-commerce experts, the Karl Lagerfeld flagship store in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district of Paris is one of the first French participants in the " Connected Retail Partner Program " .

Carsten Keller, general manager in charge of the project , said in a statement : We are very much looking forward to shaping the future of retail together with French retailers . The Connected Retail Partner Program will not only enable physical stores to quickly develop their online business , but also achieve more sales. Relying on this model, Zalando 's "money-making" speed has been greatly increased.

Keller also emphasized the strategic significance of this expansion, saying: As one of the largest fashion markets in Europe, France plays a special role in our journey to becoming a fashion starting point . In order to expand our influence in France, we will continue to increase our investment.

Zalando is also offering special conditions to partners in its Connected Retail program in France in light of the current problems in the physical retail sector . According to a statement, Zalando is offering participating retailers "reduced commissions until the end of the year " and "weekly payments of sales to ensure liquidity for partners during the pandemic . "

According to foreign media reports, the "Connected Retail Partner Program" is an integral part of Zalando's platform strategy and has become part of retailers' solutions during the new coronavirus crisis. Currently, there are 9 markets in Europe, including Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Austria, with a total of more than 3,400 active stores.

This year, Zalando plans to attract at least 600 French suppliers to participate in the project , bringing the total number of partners implementing the model to 6,000 .
