As the circular economy emerges, B2B clothing rental platform CaaStle plans to expand into the UK market

As the concept of sustainable development becomes increasingly popular, clothing rental services have been favored by many consumers for the purpose of saving money and protecting the environment.

According to prnewswire, CaaStle, the leading B2B clothing rental technology platform in the United States, announced yesterday that it will expand its business scope to the UK market.

CaaStle is a leader in the circular retail economy in the U.S., providing subscription-based rental services to major retailers. Its retail partners include Vince, Rebecca Taylor, Express, Banana Republic, Destination Maternity and Walmart's ELOQUII brand.

It is reported that CaaStle will cooperate with the British menswear group Moss Bros to launch the UK's first subscription rental service for men, MOSS BOX, on April 20, and plans to cooperate with the British luxury fashion brand LK Bennett to provide unlimited rental services for British women at the end of this summer.

MOSS BOX will provide consumers with clothing from Moss Bros., Hugo, Barberis and Ted Baker. With a monthly subscription fee of only £65, members can rent their favorite clothing without restrictions, make unlimited changes, and keep and purchase any items at a discount. The platform will also provide consumers with unlimited free delivery, returns and free environmentally friendly laundry services.

For partner merchants, CaaStle 's B2B technology platform can provide retailers and fashion brands with a unique " Clothing as a Service " business , a subscription-based, unlimited rental model that helps customers supplement their existing retail and e-commerce businesses with rental businesses.

Moreover , compared with traditional retail, CaaS can provide retailers with predictable recurring revenue streams , reduce inventory risks , maximize profits and increase customer engagement.

“In today’s challenging retail environment, subscription-based leasing can provide significant revenue streams to traditionally offline brands through improved return on assets and powerful new data collection tools,” said Christine Hunsicker, founder and CEO of CaaStle.

Christine also noted that CaaStle has seen strong results from its subscription rental business in the US and hopes to bring those gains to the wider market, deepening the connection between UK retailers and consumers.

In addition to expanding the regional market, CaaStle's launch of men's clothing rental services in the UK market is also a further development of the men's clothing rental market. Previously, subscription-based clothing rental services were mainly concentrated in the women's clothing category, and CaaStle launched Scotch Select, which includes men's clothing rental services, in cooperation with Scotch & Soda in 2019. It has recently cooperated with the EXPRESS clothing brand to provide the Men's Style Trial service, opening up the men's clothing rental market in the United States.

Darren Top, CEO of LK Bennett Fashion Ltd, said: “We are delighted to be working with CaaStle to bring a new way to shop to our customers. We believe this new rental product will attract a new customer base to LKB, meet the needs of those who are looking for a more sustainable way to shop, and help customers to regularly update their wardrobes, providing customers with more clothing options for their daily wear.”
