Shopee will charge 1% to 2% commission for local non-mall sellers

Shopee Malaysia announced that from June 1, 2021, a commission of 1% to 2% will be charged on all local non-mall sellers with ≥ 100 completed orders.

It is worth noting that this new policy will not affect the commissions already charged to existing Shopee sellers and overseas sellers.

So what are non-mall sellers ? Non-mall sellers refer to local sellers who sell through the Shopee platform and are not part of the Shopee mall.

Completed orders are all past orders from the seller that have been delivered to the buyer and have been accepted for payment. This does not include canceled or returned /refunded orders, or orders that are waiting to be received and accepted by the buyer.

Sellers can view the total number of completed orders through the My Orders - Completed page in Seller Central .

The calculation method of commission is Commission = (Product Price – Seller Coupon – Seller Shipping Promotion) x Commission Rate . The commission collected will be deducted directly from the seller’s income.

After the commission fee changes, sellers can pay more attention to their order information. In addition to the changes in Malaysia's commission policy, Shopee has also updated the sales policy of the Indonesian site.

Selling wireless Bluetooth and other products requires POSTEL certification

Shopee stated in the announcement that starting from April 5, POSTEL certification will be required to sell wireless /Bluetooth related products on its Indonesian site .

Sellers should note that products that are not currently certified will not be displayed or sold on the platform. For illegal products that have already been listed, the Shopee platform will delete them uniformly, but no penalty points will be generated.

After April 5, if sellers continue to list related products, they will be deleted and penalized. If sellers wish to continue selling such products on the Shopee platform, they must contact their account manager or Shopee cross-border customer service to apply for sales qualifications after obtaining POSTEL certification.

Judging from the sales data of previous Shopee promotions, electronic 3C products and their accessories are all hot-selling categories, and wireless Bluetooth is a related product. In the future, when sellers sell such products, they must first obtain POSTEL certification .
