Shopify and the Detroit Pistons launch SHOP313 to help small and medium-sized enterprises grow

The Detroit Pistons and Shopify are joining forces to launch SHOP313, a first-of-its-kind, immersive small business platform focused on amplifying and supporting small businesses in Detroit .

Shopify is a leading e-commerce platform that supports more than 1.7 million businesses worldwide. This time, it cooperated with the NBA team to launch SHOP313 to promote the development of local entrepreneurs and start-ups in Detroit.

It is reported that during the 2021-2022 NBA season, SHOP313 will provide each participating business and entrepreneur with free access to Shopify educational courses and resources, funding and networking activities.

Selected businesses will also have free access to advertising placements provided by the Pistons, including social media posts, signage at games, radio ads during game broadcasts, placements on Pistons.com and the Piston App, and advertising in the Plaza event space.

To kick off the SHOP313 program, the team created a video featuring players Saddiq Bey, Killian Hayes and Isaiah Stewart, who visited local small businesses in Detroit to interact with customers and demonstrate small business tips behind the counter.

The Detroit Pistons and Shopify are committed to supporting and promoting small businesses throughout the community, and SHOP313 will provide a platform for area entrepreneurs to increase brand awareness and further growth,” said Mike Zavodsky, Chief Business Officer of the Pistons .

Ritu Khanna, General Manager of Shopify's Eastern U.S., also said, "Shopify believes that Detroit's future belongs to entrepreneurs, and we are honored to work with the Detroit Pistons to support those who are shaping the future for the community."

According to the editor, to qualify for the SHOP313 platform, businesses and entrepreneurs must be established or operate in the Detroit area, be an independent, non-franchise business, be officially registered, and must submit an application through the shop313.pistons website.

In addition, it is understood that RingCentral will also support the SHOP313 platform, providing it with business communication resources and offering $60,000 in funding and free MVP (meeting, video and phone) subscriptions to specific companies. RingCentral is a US-listed company that provides cloud-based communication and collaboration solutions to enterprises.
