UAE B2B e-commerce Tradeling launches new platform to solve procurement pain points for small businesses

The newly launched Trading Shops serve local micro and small businesses and merchants , providing them with a one-stop service to help them purchase wholesale through online channels while ensuring timely delivery with next-day delivery.

Currently, there are more than 700 suppliers from more than 25 countries on Tradeling Shops, providing more than 60,000 SKUs. Products cover 13 vertical fields , including food and beverage, beauty and personal care, office and stationery, health products, home garden and furniture, consumer electronics, fashion and accessories, building materials and hardware, baby products, sports and fitness, automobiles, pet care, and mechanical equipment.

Marius Ciavola, CEO of Tradeling, said: "With the success of Tradeling, we decided to open Tradeling Shops to better serve local communities through small merchants." This is also a differentiation between the two platforms.

The main target groups of Tradeling Shops are grocery stores, small shops, supermarkets, tea shops, cafeterias and small restaurants. Tradeling Shops also plans to expand its scope to cater to laundromats, beauty salons, barber shops and other small businesses.

Catherina Ballout, head of the new service, said: “ Small businesses often face problems sourcing supplies, having to deal with multiple suppliers which is time-consuming and costly , and having no control over the delivery times of each supplier further adds to the burden.”

She added: “ For suppliers, it is difficult to reach small business buyers due to high costs. Tradeling Shops solves both of these problems.”

Currently, the Trading Shops service will be available in five UAE emirates: Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain, and will be expanded to Abu Dhabi in the second half of this year.

Catherina said: "Tradeling Shops will strive to simplify the wholesale purchasing process for local businesses and provide excellent solutions so that micro-businesses can obtain a large selection of products at the most competitive wholesale prices. At the same time, Tradeling Shops will further optimize its distribution services and provide same-day delivery services for buyers."
