Revenue will reach 1.95 billion pounds! British e-commerce Asos has strong growth in the first half of the year

Foreign media reported that since the UK's blockade restrictions have not been completely lifted, consumers cannot return to the streets to shop. Therefore, British e-commerce Asos said that it will continue to maintain the enthusiasm of recent transactions , and its revenue and sales will grow again.

The group has seen sales rise during the pandemic as its customers shunned party dresses in favour of casual wear.

Asos plans to update shareholders and investors on its trading performance for the six months to February in its half-year results update next Thursday (April 8) .

Asos expects revenue to rise 22% to around £1.95 billion during the period, driven by continued growth in customer numbers . The company is also expected to announce a 135% increase in basic earnings per share as a result .

Analysts at JP Morgan forecast Aso 's pre-tax profit of £86m for the period , but warned that trade tariffs after Brexit could cost the company around £2m .

Still, analysts say the retailer is expected to benefit from at least £40 million in savings from UK consumers during the pandemic , as people start spending more now that the pandemic is coming to an end.

Asos's share price has risen steadily in recent months amid optimism that consumers are still keen to shop online despite the imminent reopening of physical stores on the UK high street , and that this trend is expected to continue.

Although Asos shares have fallen a bit from their all-time high of £80 in 2018, they closed close to a 12-month high .

It is reported that since Asos acquired the former Arcadia Group brands Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge and HIIT for £265 million in early February , it has relaunched the online platforms of these brands.

This will attract a large number of customers to Asos to a certain extent and expand the customer selection rate of its platform. Although the number of visits to the Asos website has reached 2.6 billion times, only about 3% of visitors will purchase goods, which means there is still a lot of room for sales expansion. What Asos needs to do is to increase the customer's order rate and retain consumers.
