It is reported that the 5th Global Cross-border E-commerce Conference will be held at the Zhengzhou E-trade Expo and Trading Center. The organizers of this conference are the Henan Provincial Department of Commerce, the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, the China International Electronic Commerce Center, the China Service Trade Association, and the Ministry of Commerce's International Trade and Economic Cooperation Research Institute.
It is reported that the conference will hold an opening ceremony and a cross-border e-commerce summit, four parallel forums and exhibitions. With the theme of "Buy Globally, Sell Globally", it will focus on promoting the high-quality development of new e-commerce formats and models, creating a high-end, international, market-oriented and professional cross-border e-commerce exchange and cooperation platform, and comprehensively reviewing and summarizing the province's e-commerce development achievements over the past five years.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Provincial Department of Commerce, the conference will discuss topics including new opportunities, new challenges, new markets for the cooperative development of "Silk Road e-commerce", and cross-border e-commerce to boost new global momentum. In addition to promoting and promoting Henan brands and introducing the current status of the transformation and development of Henan cross-border e-commerce companies, a number of important cross-border e-commerce cooperation projects will be signed at the conference, providing a broader exchange and cooperation platform and greater opportunities for mutual benefit and win-win results for international cooperation and economic and trade exchanges.
In addition, this e-commerce conference will also showcase well-known domestic and foreign cross-border e-commerce companies, domestic cross-border e-commerce comprehensive experimental zones, and the province's cross-border e-commerce achievements.
Today, the development of Zhengzhou's cross-border e-commerce has been at the forefront of the country. According to the "China Cross-border E-commerce Blue Book (2020)" released in November last year, Zhengzhou already has 598 cross-border e-commerce companies. As one of the 15 pilot cities in the country, Zhengzhou ranks fifth in the overall urban development index of China's cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone, after Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Ningbo, and before Shanghai. It is also one of the few non-eastern cities in the Top 15.
The blue book points out that Zhengzhou has seen a significant increase in cross-border imports. The import volume of its cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone was 11.25 billion yuan, ranking second among all cities. It currently has 13 cross-border e-commerce parks and is in a stage of comprehensive growth.
However, at present, the first-mover advantage of Zhengzhou's cross-border e-commerce import service pilot is gradually being lost in the fierce market competition. The competition for corporate investment has intensified. In addition, most of the small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises are small in scale, scattered in distribution, and rely on the layout of industrial belts. However, there is still a big gap between Zhengzhou's advantageous industries such as automobile equipment manufacturing and wig products and characteristic export commodity industries such as Yiwu Small Commodity City and Shenzhen 3C electronic products. The investment matching degree is not high, the industrial foundation is weak, the supply chain is not perfect, and cross-border talents are relatively scarce.
