E-wallets have become the preferred payment method for more and more people. E-wallets appear in various transaction scenarios in daily life . Practicality , security , and speed are all advantages of e-wallets . During the pandemic , e-wallets are considered to be a safer and lowest-risk payment method. In an online consumer survey conducted by Snapcart in the first quarter of 2021 , it was found that Shopee 's e-wallet ShopeePay left the deepest impression on users , was the most popular and most used e-wallet brand among Indonesian users . Astrid Williandry, head of Snapcart Indonesia, said: “ This is a remarkable achievement. Although ShopeePay has only been online for a short time, its development is very fast because it is compatible with Shopee , the largest e-commerce platform in Indonesia . ” Based on e-wallet user data in March 2021, Snapcart’s survey results showed that ShopeePay was the most used e-wallet ( 76%), followed by Gopay (57%) , Ovo (54%) , Dana (49%) and LinkAja (21%) . “From the survey results, these five brands are the most widely used by consumers when using digital wallets for payment. They are constantly seeking new partners, which is the reason for their popularity, ” added Astrid Williandry. In terms of the frequency of using e-wallets for payment during the three-month survey , ShopeePay was the most commonly used e-wallet, followed by Ovo , Dana , Gopay and LinkAja . Astrid Williandry said: “This is an interesting finding. As the number of users of online payments continues to increase , ShopeePay is being accepted by more and more merchants and more cooperation is being achieved. ” For example, when consumers make payments for shopping on the Shopee platform , the e-wallets of the above five brands are also the most popular. From the average monthly transaction data , ShopeePay e-wallet occupies 38% of the market share , followed by Ovo (19%) , Gopay (19%) , Dana (17%) and LinkAja (7%) . In the Snapcart survey, 59% of respondents considered ShopeePay to be the most useful e-wallet that makes the entire shopping process easier , followed by Ovo (18%) , Gopay (9%) , Dana (10%) and LinkAja (4%). “The Shopee platform has tens of thousands of sellers across Indonesia , with a wide variety of product categories including food and beverages , fashion , electronics , and more, and ShopeePay provides great convenience to consumers, making it very popular in all areas , ” added Astrid Williandry .
