Good news! eBay UK fixed-value fees are reduced by two-thirds

Recently, eBay issued an announcement stating that from February 15, 2022, for sellers registered in Greater China who create new listings in the Electronics and Home Gardening categories of eBay UK, if the total order value does not exceed 10 pounds, the transaction fee for each order will be reduced from 0.3 pounds to 0.1 pounds. There is no limit on the number of new listings.

It should be noted that eBay will not charge the fee of £0.1 directly, but will still charge the original fee of £0.3, and then return the reduced fee (i.e. £0.2 per order) to the seller's account within 28 days after the end of each calendar month.

In addition to this, there are a few small details that sellers need to pay attention to.

"Total order price is £10" includes taxes and logistics costs, which is the total order price paid by the consumer.

Listings that are removed and then relisted can enjoy the reduced fees. Starting February 15, 2022, listings that are manually removed and relisted, as well as listings that are relisted through the "Automatic Relisting" function, can enjoy the reduced fees. This also applies to listings scheduled to be listed after February 15.

However, listings that were listed using the "Good 'Till Cancelled" feature before February 15th are not eligible for this fee discount.

In addition, an order that contains both listings that are eligible and not eligible for the reduced fee, or a combined order (where each listing is priced below £10) with a total order price exceeding £10, will not be eligible for this fee discount.

Regarding fee adjustments, eBay has also released a number of announcements recently.

For example, on the eBay UK site, from January 1, 2022, eBay will increase the international rates for sales from the UK to 23 European countries. This fee applies to sellers with registered addresses in the UK and orders from buyers whose delivery addresses (based on the information filled in at checkout) are in the other 23 European countries. In addition, whether the seller ships the goods themselves or through the eBay Global Shipping Program (GSP), they must pay this fee.

The following are the specific rate increases for corporate sellers and individual sellers:

1. Corporate sellers: International fees will increase from 0.5% to 1.05% (excluding VAT)

2. Individual sellers: International fees will increase from 0.6% to 1.26% (including 20% VAT)

The 23 countries are: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
