Video verification account blocked and scammed again, 32 sellers defrauded of 280,000 yuan

Video verification account blocked and scammed again, 32 sellers defrauded of 280,000 yuan

According to sellers, after their stores were blocked by Amazon due to failing video verification, some sellers looked for service providers to unblock them, but ended up encountering a "pig killing scheme" where they paid the money but received no "service" at all.

The seller said: "The other party signed a contract with us and paid us through a corporate account. Their WeChat, Alipay and phone numbers were all verified with real names, but they still took the money and didn't do anything. Now they've disappeared and don't reply to WeChat or phone calls."

Afterwards, the sellers spontaneously formed a rights protection group. At that time, there were 32 victimized sellers who could be contacted, with a total loss of 280,000 yuan.

The seller must be feeling very upset now. His store was banned due to the video authentication issue and he didn’t know how to save it. Now he is being cheated by a bad service provider. It’s really difficult.

Since February, many sellers have received emails from Amazon asking them to conduct video verification. According to the email instructions, sellers need to have a 20-minute real-time video call with Amazon staff in three optional time periods, and make an appointment within 7 days of receiving the email, otherwise their accounts will be blocked.

As soon as the news came out , people were in a panic. Many sellers were operating multiple accounts at the same time. The legal persons behind some accounts were their relatives, friends or subordinates, while some accounts were simply purchased from relevant service providers . It was especially difficult for distribution companies to break away from this business model.

Video verification requires the presence of a legal person and the presentation of the original documents uploaded when registering an Amazon account . Therefore, it is not easy to forge video verification. There was even a seller whose more than 100 accounts were almost all shut down in just two days.

At this time, some service providers come into play, and some even boast that they can pass the test 100% of the time, quoting a price of 55,000 yuan. The seller may panic and try any possible means.

In this regard, the editor would like to remind sellers here that compliant operation is the general trend. Amazon has increased its review of merchants on the platform. It is definitely not worth the loss to test the law.

In addition, as the scope of Amazon’s video verification expands, the Amazon model of distributing products in a large number of stores may encounter more setbacks in the future. Sellers themselves must also be mentally prepared to deal with any difficulties!
