Attention! Amazon will provide free cybersecurity awareness training

Recently, Amazon US issued an announcement stating that it will provide free cybersecurity awareness training for sellers.

Amazon said that this free cybersecurity awareness training is designed to help sellers identify and predict common cyberattack situations. The training lasts a total of 15 minutes and covers topics such as secure communications, data classification, phishing, physical security, social engineering, data privacy, third-party/application security, laptop standards, protecting data and data use. This free cybersecurity awareness training can be downloaded as a SCORM or Tin Can/xAPI export package, and sellers can upload it to their own learning management system (LMS).

Amazon pointed out that this free cybersecurity awareness training has the following features:

1. Create an inclusive learning culture

The training will provide sellers with a global, inclusive learning experience in 15 languages, with content and navigation compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA requirements.

2. Stay in line with the compliance framework

The training takes into account global compliance frameworks and complies with NIST SP 800-53r4, ISO 27001, K-ISMS, RSEFT, IRAP, OSPAR, and MTCS framework rules. These frameworks all require sellers and their employees to participate in security awareness training. Sellers can comply with this requirement by completing the cybersecurity awareness training content and following the additional steps outlined in each compliance framework.

3. Deployment within minutes

Whether you attend training directly from the website or use Amazon’s prepackaged LMS files, sellers can access training in minutes.

4. Enhance content retention

This training was developed based on adult learning principles to maximize content retention.

"Whether you're a company or an individual, it's important for sellers to increase their knowledge of social engineering and phishing scams," said Steve Schmidt, chief information security officer at Amazon Web Services . "While some scams may seem simple, they can actually have serious consequences. Amazon's cybersecurity awareness training will help sellers better identify these threats and protect their accounts."

After participating in the training, many sellers thought that the training was very comprehensive and were ready to recommend it to their employees for learning. It is worth noting that after completing the training, sellers can also download a certificate of completion in PDF format and will receive a "Completed Training" mark.
