A new round of verification has begun! A large number of sellers’ accounts have been restricted

This season, the waves after waves, in addition to the wheat waves, may also be Amazon's account verification.

Recently, the topic of discussion among Amazon sellers has always been account verification. The new US Consumer Notification Act has triggered a nationwide verification campaign. Sellers who have not submitted their accounts smoothly are still worried, and those who have completed their accounts have just breathed a sigh of relief when they receive a new verification notice - company address postcard verification. Sellers are speechless: "Can't you just sell your products properly?"

At present, a large number of sellers have received emails . Before the postcard verification, there is a phone verification step. But perhaps due to Amazon's system, many sellers are unable to receive calls and text messages. After a few attempts, the only three verification opportunities are reduced to one or even cleared directly. Sellers are alarmed and dare not make any more rash moves. At present, sellers who have failed the phone verification have been prompted by the backend to have their account access restricted.

A new wave of verification has emerged, and a large number of sellers have received emails

Starting yesterday afternoon, Amazon sent a batch of notifications to sellers on the platform, requiring them to verify the company addresses on their profile pages.

“We will send a unique code to the address we have on file for you, which you will need to enter in Seller Central by 2023-07-23. If you do not complete this process by 2023-07-23, future payments will be held in your seller account until your address is verified.

Because there were too many sellers participating in the verification, the page kept saying "system busy". The sudden abnormally large traffic once caused the Amazon page to crash and report an error. Some sellers suggested that they could avoid the peak period and verify in the middle of the night. I wonder how many people worked late into the night.

When opening the address verification portal, the phone verification page appears first. Because postcards are to be sent, Amazon requires sellers to ensure that a valid phone number is provided. When filling in the company address, Amazon said that "your address and phone number may be verified" and reminded sellers to include the country code when entering the phone number.

In this stage, there are two ways to receive PIN: SMS/phone call. After receiving the SMS, the seller can enter the PIN code in the blank space, but there are only three chances.

The step of receiving SMS alone makes sellers scratch their heads, because many people cannot receive the verification code. This is not the worst. The key is that even if the seller does not receive the SMS after clicking "Verify", he has consumed 1 chance.

"I directly used the number starting with 186 to receive SMS messages, but I couldn't receive any. Now I have quit and I only have two chances left." "I also didn't get any SMS messages after SMS verification. I chose to make a phone call but no phone call came either. I lost my two chances and only have one chance left." Sellers complained. In fact, because they couldn't receive SMS messages, many sellers tried again in the hope of resolving the issue, which resulted in the two verification chances being used up . Faced with the only chance left, they dared not make any more moves.

How can I receive text messages? Amazon has previously made it clear that sellers should include the country code when entering their phone numbers. Some sellers are worried that adding "+86 " to modify the phone number will result in re-verification of the address, and some sellers still cannot receive text messages after adding "+86". However, some sellers have found that if they add "+86" to the front of the phone number and select "English" for the verification code, they can immediately receive the verification code.

Because they did not receive the mobile phone verification code after two consecutive verifications , a few sellers directly changed their mobile phone numbers, skipped this step and waited for the postcard verification, so that they had three more verification opportunities.

Phone verification failed, seller account access is restricted

So far, some sellers have conducted three phone verifications but received nothing. What happens if the three opportunities are used up? One seller said sadly that his account is normal at present, but after clicking the address verification button, a page error message popped up, and he didn't know what to do.

In response to this, one seller suggested updating the phone number again: "Add +86 in front of the mobile phone number, without spaces. I found out after I had used up my three attempts to verify, and then the call came in immediately." A seller tried it and indeed received a text message immediately, but it also triggered a postcard verification, and he had already gone through the postcard address verification. Another seller reported that after the three attempts were used up, adding a mobile phone number with "+86" in front of it also allowed him to receive messages.

As for the situation where the verification code cannot be received on the mobile phone, the seller believes that it is a platform bug. An investment manager said that the reason is not clear yet, but feedback has been given. "If you cannot enter the verification page, or the mobile phone number does not receive the verification code after one attempt, please do not try again for the time being, and try to verify at a different time. The system currently receives a large number of verifications."

Without the phone verification code, you cannot proceed with address verification. If the phone verification fails, a reminder of restricted sales service access will appear in the seller's backend, requiring you to provide your company address and phone number.

Now, a large number of sellers are waiting for Amazon to fix the system problems before taking further actions for verification.

Can I pass the customs by just verifying my phone number? Customer Service: Wait a moment

Sellers who received the email have started to work, and those who did not receive it should not be careless. One seller reminded: " Several stores did not receive email notifications, and the backend also prompted to verify the address and mobile phone number. Please check your backend, where the account information is. "

When filling in the company address, Amazon reminds you to fill in the region /city address column in Chinese. The address verification steps are as follows:

1. Log in to Seller Central.
2. On Seller Central, go to the Settings menu and select Account Information to view your Seller Account Information page.
3. In the Business Information section, select the Company Address page. If your company address is incorrect, update it and then click Confirm Address when the displayed information is correct.
4. After clicking "Confirm Address", we will send a postcard containing a verification code to that address. Most postcards will be delivered within 5-7 business days.
5. After receiving the postcard, enter the verification code using this link.

Currently, only a few sellers have successfully received SMS verification codes to complete phone verification and can proceed to address verification. However, for some other sellers, after completing phone verification, the backend directly prompts them to complete phone and address dual verification. What is going on?

"The email message said that I needed to verify the address by postcard. I clicked on the link and it showed the verification of the mobile phone number, but the address verification was successful by default." said a seller. This is the situation shown in the picture below.

Therefore, after completing the phone verification, the pages of such sellers will directly display the double signs of "Phone number verification successful" and "Address verification successful", and the "Restricted Access" prompt box originally displayed in the background will also disappear.

It is understood that most of these sellers have previously conducted postcard address verification, and the backend directly shows that the address verification is successful. However, some sellers think that something is wrong and the verification has not been completed. Some sellers also think that if the phone number originally has "+86", then the phone verification can be completed directly without the address verification step.

The seller asked the customer service about this. The customer service said: " Today, many sellers have reported this issue. Normally, when you receive an address verification, you usually need to submit a verification code to verify the address and phone number. If you are unable to confirm, the backend will show that the verification has been successful. It is recommended that you wait patiently. "

For most people, postcard verification is not complicated, but the phone verification process was not easy. The seller joked that he did not make money from Amazon, but he did learn a lot of knowledge about account verification.
