According to previous data from E-Promo, the size of Russia's e-commerce market will reach 7.5 trillion rubles (about 662.7 billion yuan) by 2025.
Maxim Medvedev, founder of investment firm AddVenture, said: " In three to five years, the Russian e-commerce market will double in size and account for 20% of the total retail market. "
Maxim believes that Russia's e-commerce has the potential to grow further, which is one of the reasons for capital investment in e-commerce. Nowadays, most online transactions are conducted on e-commerce platforms, and consumers are accustomed to this type of shopping. Under this circumstance, market players should provide a full range of services and IT platforms for suppliers of different sizes to accelerate their development on the platform.
In February this year, AddVenture invested more than $1 million in Sales Technologies to develop product promotion services, strengthen the IT product development team, and test new models for promoting stores and products on online platforms (including international e-commerce platforms).
It is worth mentioning that Sales Technologies is the cooperative operating partner of AliExpress Russia, Ozon, Wildberries and Yandex.Market.
Anton Larin, president of Sales Technologies , said: "In the first months of the pandemic, we noticed a change in the habits of online shoppers. For example, in the first half of 2020, sales of fast-moving consumer goods increased fourfold year-on-year. We expect the e-commerce volume of this segment to grow at an annual rate of 17% and reach 3 trillion rubles."
As the market size and consumer habits change, e-commerce platforms are also working hard to move up. According to ARG data, by the end of 2020, the number of sellers on AliExpress Russia had increased by 40%. At the same time, Yandex.Market's product range expanded to 1 million.
In order to cooperate with sellers on the platform quickly and with high quality, the platform will hand over some processes to operating partners. Companies such as Sales Technologies can provide sellers with content, store and product creation and promotion, interact with consumers, and be responsible for logistics and delivery.
“About 70 to 80 percent of large online stores want to operate as e-commerce platforms, and this is not just a trend in Russia,” said Yuri Weissman, founder of Artics . Russia |
