76% of Spaniards prefer online shopping, with Amazon being the most popular platform

According to a recent study of Spanish consumers, more than three quarters ( 76% ) of Spanish consumers said they now prefer online shopping and spend more time on it than before the coronavirus outbreak . Half of Spaniards even shop online at least once a week .

 

Over the past 12 months, due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus and the implementation of related lockdown measures , online shopping has become a consumer habit in Spanish society .

 

One in two Spanish consumers claim to shop online at least once a week, with 15% doing so several times a week . 43 % say they buy online at least once a month.

 

Therefore, one in two Spaniards shops online at least once a week . Online shopping is popular among Spanish consumers, and will there be a shopping boom in the future?

 

The study also revealed that smartphones ( 66%) are the most popular device for online shopping , followed by computers or laptops ( 50%) and tablets (16%).

 

It is reported that the most popular e-commerce platforms for Spanish consumers when shopping online include Amazon, AliExpress, eBay , etc. Due to the rich product variety and fast logistics of the Amazon platform, it has become the most popular e-commerce platform in Spain and is deeply loved by consumers.

 

The second is AliExpress Spain, which has attracted a large number of consumers through preferential prices. The auction system of the eBay platform is very popular, especially during the epidemic, when second-hand products on its platform are very popular.

 

The report also revealed the top products that Spanish online consumers like to buy when shopping, with clothing and accessories ranking first.

 

Among all products purchased online, the most popular product category is clothing and accessories , accounting for 64%. Another popular online purchase is technology , accounting for 46% . Beauty products , cosmetics and perfumes ranked third , accounting for 35%. Catering and food delivery (33%) and groceries (27%) ranked fourth and fifth respectively.
