Emergency! Parts of India have announced a blockade again!

Recently, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has surged in Maharashtra, India . Against this background, the city of Thane announced that from March 9 to March 31 , a comprehensive lockdown will be implemented in 16 areas marked as high-incidence areas of the new coronavirus . The lockdown standards and restrictions are consistent with the lockdown measures implemented nationwide in India in 2020.

Although the lockdown only targets some areas in India with high incidence of the new coronavirus, this emergency lockdown still reflects the severe epidemic situation in India.

Starting from February 20, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, India surged, and subsequently, the number of newly confirmed cases in some other parts of India also began to increase significantly. Although India began vaccinating some citizens as early as January, the epidemic situation in India has not slowed down, but has become more serious.

The increasingly severe epidemic situation will once again drive the popularity of epidemic prevention supplies. The demand for products such as masks, disinfectants, and alcohol wipes will rise again, and the demand for some fast-moving consumer goods will also continue to rise, such as instant noodles, freeze-dried soup, instant coffee and other fast-foods, soap, shampoo and other personal care products, as well as leisure and entertainment products. The demand will continue to grow.

In addition, if the epidemic situation continues to worsen, it may prompt India to implement a large-scale strict blockade again. The travel activities of Indian people will be restricted again. The restrictions on offline activities may once again drive the prosperity and prosperity of online shopping. India's e-commerce industry may once again reach a peak.

According to a NASSCOM-Technopak survey of over 360 retail stakeholders, 79% of respondents strongly believe that technology will play a key role in the growth of the Indian retail sector , while 70% are optimistic about the online + offline partnership model and increasing acceptance of online services.

The concept of online shopping in India has been accepted by most Indians. If the blockade is carried out again, the concept of online shopping will be further popularized, and India's e-commerce market will become more mature and stable.
