Thousands of sellers have successfully joined SHEIN, most of them are from Amazon

According to foreign media reports, some Amazon sellers have received an invitation letter like this: In view of the success of [brand name] on Amazon, we are inviting you today and hope that you can bring [brand name] into the SHEIN market.

 

In May this year , SHEIN officially launched the platform model in the United States, inviting third-party sellers to join . Thousands of sellers have joined the market, most of whom are Amazon sellers. SHEIN seems to be actively recruiting Amazon sellers.

 

SHEIN started out as a fast fashion retailer based on C2M (consumer to manufacturer), but is now working to become a large retailer with a wide range of categories, and then to develop into a retailer and market that combines both. To achieve this goal, SHEIN is actively expanding the group of local and national sellers in the United States. These sellers usually have their own physical stores in the United States (including Amazon FBA).

As Peter Pernot-Day, SHEIN's head of strategy, said in a podcast, the platform model is part of SHEIN's localization strategy. The last link is to find suppliers who produce and manufacture SHEIN clothing, as well as third-party sellers who are willing to work with SHEIN.

 

At present, most of the sellers on this platform are still from China, although many of them ship from US warehouses. But SHEIN has also recruited some local US sellers, including top Amazon sellers such as Juvo Plus (one of the largest sellers on Amazon). In addition, some media predict that SHEIN will continue to focus on "Amazon sellers" in the next period of time.

 

Currently, SHEIN is an invitation-only platform. To join SHEIN, sellers must have an annual sales volume of $2 million on Amazon. But for those sellers who meet the requirements, SHEIN will provide free advertising and reduce commissions for 3 months.

 

Shein may become a very important market in the future. Data shows that SHEIN's sales in 2022 have reached 30 billion US dollars, and relevant institutions predict that the company's global GMV will grow to 80 billion US dollars by 2025.
