In Target’s third quarter of 2020, same-day sales grew more than 200%, increasing sales by more than $1 billion . Drive Up alone generated nearly $700 million in growth, up more than 500% from last year.

Walmart

In March 2020 , Walmart eliminated its standalone Grocery app, allowing consumers to purchase groceries for pickup directly from the Walmart app. In addition, Walmart has done a good job posting visible signage that directs consumers to the pickup area at 86% of the grocery stores audited .

Sam's Club, whose stores offer designated curbside parking , ranked first in curbside pickup with 100% of audited locations offering designated curbside parking .

Additionally, it expanded its store locator feature to provide greater control over specific products and curbside hours . In the third quarter of 2020 , Ulta Beauty achieved a 90% compound annual growth rate.

Nordstrom began offering BOPIS in 2008 and later added curbside delivery to all full-line stores in the U.S. To accommodate curbside pickup and in-store pickup, Nordstrom has been expanding its store fulfillment capabilities, which now account for a quarter of online orders .

Currently, Nordstrom's full-price business can already view all inventory resources across all stores and distribution centers through a single view. In October 2020, Nordstrom further integrated store and online inventory, increasing the online product selection by 30,000 items.

Kohl's

Kohl's launched BOPIS nationwide in 2015, but in 2020, most Kohl's orders were picked up through contactless Drive Up . In addition, Kohl's has added trunk and backseat pickup services to its BOPIS service.

The contactless , free service is now available at Kohl's stores nationwide. Additionally , on Kohl's online store, items marked "Free Store Pickup" can be picked up within two hours.

It has to be said that these fast , convenient , reliable and contactless services are more popular with consumers . Sellers need to pay attention to the fact that it is best to keep pace with the times according to the constant changes of consumers and the times .
