Walmart offers free online grocery delivery for a limited time

Recently, Walmart announced that it will provide free online grocery delivery services to celebrate the prosperity of its online grocery business .

For new and existing customers who use the code "delivery" at checkout , they can get three free home deliveries on orders of $50 or more. The service is currently being fulfilled nationwide , but the offer is a limited-time offer and will end this time next year .

It is reported that more than 3,000 Walmart stores across the United States can provide this service . Walmart said that Walmart stores with delivery capabilities can serve 68% of the U.S. population, and almost all stores can complete delivery in two hours or less. Some are delivered by Walmart employees , and some are delivered by third-party contractors .

Walmart is perfecting its grocery delivery service as it competes with Amazon , Target and traditional grocers Kroger , Albertsons and Tom Thumb to meet growing demand for online groceries.

Walmart and experts say the adoption of online grocery shopping, which many people have embraced during the pandemic, has become a habit that consumers are not going to give up.

Walmart will reportedly increase its ability to fill online grocery orders by building small automated fulfillment centers in dozens of stores . Walmart also plans to open new mini centers in Lewisville and Plano. In addition , Walmart spent $800 million to build two grocery distribution centers in Lancaster.

Grocery delivery is now available at 3,750 of Walmart's more than 5,300 stores , and the company has doubled the number of personal shoppers it has in the past year.
