What is WAON? WAON Review, Features

WAON is a prepaid electronic currency used in Japan. It can be used as electronic currency and cash. Electronic currency WAON uses touch-screen shopping, does not require change, and shopping is simple and fast. Electronic currency WAON can be used in stores with signs in Japan.

How to use

1. Recharge your WAON card

  • store cash registers;
  • AEON Bank;
  • ATMWAON Mini Recharger;

2. Use (payment) electronic currency WAON

  • Offline payment;

When paying, please tell us "WAON payment". Touch the WAON card on the card reader/writer (card reader) installed on the cash register. When you hear "Waon!", the payment is complete.

  • Use (pay) for online shopping;

It can use online payment in online stores (membership stores), connect the IC card reader / writer, and make payments using WAON.

*An IC card reader/writer is required.

3. Accumulation and use of points

  • You can earn this point by shopping at WAON and participating in campaigns. You can also redeem WAON points for WAON. 1 point (equivalent to 1 yen) will be automatically accumulated for every 200 yen (tax included) paid with WAON. 1 WAON (electronic money) is equal to 1 yen. Decimals less than 200 yen (tax included) will be rounded up. Note that some products and stores are not eligible for points.
