What is Splitit? Splitit Review, Features

Splitit is an Australian financial payments company that provides "buy now, pay later" solutions for merchants and customers.

About Splitit

  • Headquartered in New York City, Splitit was founded in 2009 by Israeli entrepreneurs Alon Feit and Gil Don.
  • Customers can settle their purchases in 3 to 24 installments. The first payment is made during the purchase period, while subsequent payments are automatically deducted on the same date every subsequent month. Once the customer enters the checkout page of a participating merchant, he or she can select the Splitit payment option and choose the desired number of installments.
  • Splitit customers do not pay any interest and are not charged late fees. Splitit differentiates itself from other BNPL providers by allowing customers to pay using their credit and debit cards, so there is no application or credit score check process when signing up for Splitit. Therefore, purchases will not affect a customer’s credit score either.
  • Splitit works with thousands of merchants in the automotive, beauty, electronics, fashion, health and more. For merchant partners, Splitit has developed its own payment gateway (called Splitit Plus) that can be integrated into any business software such as BigCommerce, Magento or Shopify. In this case, merchants can offer Splitit's payment solutions both online and in-store.
  • Splitit is currently available in more than 100 countries around the world, and customers and merchants can access its platform through the company’s website.
