The startup was founded by MIT graduates Justus Schmueser and Sasha Makarovych to bring modern financial payments technology to an industry rife with opaque markups, kickbacks, and physical cash.

The team includes experienced engineering executive Sergio Lopez (formerly technical co-founder of Moss) and product executive Philipp Decurtins (formerly Capgemini).

Kadmos is seeking to restore financial freedom to cross-border employees. We started with the shipping industry and its seafarers, where personal experiences of family members motivated the founders to solve this problem. The company hopes to serve all companies that employ cross-border employees, both in the shipping industry and beyond. We believe that international payments should be as easy as domestic payments.
