Allegro is the largest and most popular local e-commerce platform in Poland. It was founded in 1999 and subsequently listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) in October 2020. Allegro is a full-category e-commerce platform and currently occupies the first place in the Polish e-commerce field. According to the latest survey in 2023, nearly 89% of Poles use Allegro for online shopping. In 2022, the platform's GMV reached 10 billion euros, accounting for more than 6% of the Polish retail market. With its extremely high number of visits and searches, Allegro has become one of the top ten e-commerce platforms in the world in terms of traffic, with more than 22 million monthly active users.



Overview

  1. Poland is currently one of the fastest-growing e-commerce regions in Europe. According to survey data from international accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, the size of Poland's e-commerce market reached nearly US$22.4 billion in 2022. It is predicted that by 2035, the market size will continue to grow to US$38.5 billion.


  2. As the largest e-commerce market originating in Europe, Allegro's development strategy is not limited to the local market. In recent years, the platform has actively promoted the international expansion of the platform. In 2022, Allegro officially opened its international site to support sellers to sell to 24 EU countries, and acquired the second largest e-commerce platform in the Czech Republic, Mall Group. Such measures will help Allegro to expand its business to more Central and Eastern European countries and attract more than 70 million potential consumers for platform sellers. In May 2023, Allegro's Czech site has also been officially opened.

Settlement process


1. Log in to the Allegro official registration website and click the orange button "Register an account on the Allegro platform" on the upper right corner of the page .


2. After entering the registration page, click on the upper right corner of the page to switch the language to English.


Allegro has not yet launched a Chinese interface, but sellers can refer to the official Chinese registration guide provided by the Allegro platform. For details, please refer to :

It is recommended that sellers open the above two pages at the same time when registering an account, and fill in the registration information while referring to the Chinese guide.


 

Sellers should choose to register a "business account". The information required for a business account is:


  1. Email: You must ensure the accuracy of the email. To complete the registration, you will need:

  2. Account Name: refers to the name of the company’s store on the platform;

  3. Password: login password;

  4. Contact number: effective contact number of the enterprise;

  5. Company country: You can choose any country;

  6. Company tax number: tax registration number. For companies in mainland China, fill in the unified social credit code;

  7. Company Name: registered name of the enterprise;

  8. Company address: company registration address;

  9. Check the box next to the relevant policy.


3. Click the "Create Account" button at the end of the registration form.


4. Allegro will send an email to the email address you filled in. After receiving the email, confirm the registration.


5. After activating the account via email, the seller must choose a payment method: a corporate account that can receive Polish zlotys, Payoneer, LianLianPay, PingPong and WorldFirst.


6. After completing the above steps, the account registration process is complete. However, for corporate users, especially foreign companies, they still need to provide some information to the platform. The documents that need to be submitted depend on the type of company:


Sole trader (Polish: przedsiębiorca indywidualny) : Sole proprietorship

  1. Company registration documents

  2. The business operator's identity document (Chinese sellers need to submit their resident ID card and any of the following documents: passport, driver's license, Hong Kong and Macau pass, residence permit/temporary residence permit)

  3. VAT statement


Other (other company type, Polish: inny typ) : limited liability company (including: sole proprietorship by a natural person, investment or holding by a natural person, sole proprietorship by a legal person) and others:

  1. Company registration documents

  2. Identification documents of the legal representative (two copies per person)

  3. Identification documents of shareholders (two copies per person)

  4. VAT statement



As for the above documents, both Chinese and English documents are acceptable. The seller must provide a photo of the seller holding the document (both sides are required) .

The last step in activating your account is to set up your sales terms, such as return policy, complaint policy, and delivery options.
