Showroomprive is the second largest fashion e-commerce company in France, with 70% of its sales coming from the sale of fashion items. Currently, Showroomprive's services are available in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands and Poland. It plans to expand its business to Germany, the Czech Republic and Romania. The group does not rule out entering the Asian market, but the United States and Brazil are not under consideration. Showroomprive is not only known as a fashion expert for women, men and children, but also a retailer of sports equipment, travel, entertainment, high-tech items and cosmetics. Platform Development - Revenues in 2009 reached 75 million euros and the membership was 3 million. - Revenues in 2012 were €250 million, with 10 million members in France alone. -Revenues increased significantly by 40% to 350 million euros in 2013, mainly driven by growth in international business and mobile sales, with a total of 16.2 million registered users and 1.3 million daily page views. - In 2015, the turnover reached 443 million euros, a year-on-year increase of 27%, and the total number of users reached 24.6 million. -In October 2015, Showroomprive raised 256 million euros and was officially listed on the Euronext Paris. -In October 2016, Showroomprive announced the acquisition of its Italian counterpart Saldi Privati for 28 million euros. Considering the latter's future development potential, it may eventually add 10 million euros to the list price.
Investment -In 2010, the company received EUR 37 million in investment from private equity firm Accel Partners for international expansion and acquisitions. -In October 2015, Vipshop invested 30 million euros in France's Showroomprive. -In May 2017, Showroomprive received 157 million euros in financing from Carrefour. -In June 2017, Chinese investors of SPR Groupe (SRP.PA), the parent company of French flash sale e-commerce Showroomprive, are seeking to exit. As the cornerstone investor of the group, Chinese flash sale peer Vipshop Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:VIPS) will sell its remaining shares in the French company. |
