What is Catch of the Day? Catch of the Day Review, Features

Catch of the Day is an Australian online shopping mall and a group buying website. The biggest feature of this website is that it provides a best-value product every day. Catch of the Day has a wide range of products, including food, electronics, technology, clothing, home furnishings, toys, beauty and other categories.

About Catch of the Day

Catch of the Day is a comprehensive online mall under the Australian e-commerce giant The CatchOfTheDay Group. It was once rated as the No. 1 online shopping website in Australia by Hitwise, accounting for 14.73% of online shopping retail volume in Australia. As of 2016, the website sold an average of one product every 2.8 seconds, and the daily order volume exceeded 8,000.

Catch of the Day started as a small store on eBay by Gabby and Hezi Leibovich and has now grown into a large e-commerce company with over $350 million in sales.

Sales Model

Catch of the Day adopts a flash sale model, updating a list of products at 12pm, 4pm and 7pm every day, including many discounted products from international first- and second-tier brands, which are sold for as little as 24 hours. Mass merchandise is often cheaper than other Australian retail stores, such as Dick Smith's electronic products are sometimes put on sale at Catch of the Day, and the prices of chocolate, snacks and health products are generally lower than those in supermarkets or pharmacies.

·Catch of the Day website does not support international direct mail, but it does support forwarding addresses, so you can find an Australian forwarder. It is recommended to use PayPal for payment, and there is an online customer service for instant communication and consultation.

In July 2016, Catch of the Day was named the most popular e-commerce company in Australia at the StarTrack ORIAS People's Choice Award ceremony held in Australia.

Catch of the Day is ranked as the third largest retail website in Australia in the 2016 edition of the E-Commerce Leaders Playbook published by Power Retail.

Hacker Attack Incidents

1. In June 2014, Catch of the Day, Australia's most famous group buying website, announced that it had been hacked and some of its users' passwords and credit card data had been stolen. But shockingly, the hacking occurred more than three years ago, and Catch of the Day only disclosed the incident now.

2. It is understood that in the emails sent by Catch of the Day to users with the subject "Important Notice", consumers were not informed of the theft of their information in the first place. The company notified the relevant users immediately after the data leak, while other users were kept in the dark. A statement from Catch of the Day pointed out that only consumers who joined before May 7, 2011 were affected, and other websites covered by the Catch of the Day network, including Mumgo, Vino Mofo and Grocery Run, were not affected. It also stated that relevant actions have been taken and the authorities have been notified.

3. AFP claims it has not received any complaints about Catch of the Day website: After the AFP denied receiving any complaints about the website, the statement was considered misleading. "AFP records do not show that any complaints were received about the website Catch of the Day in 2011," said an AFP spokesperson.
