With 30 million users and 50% transaction growth, Indonesian beauty e-commerce Sociolla has huge potential!

Indonesian beauty e-commerce Sociolla has 30 million users

In Southeast Asia, beauty and skin care products have always been on the best-selling list. The hot sales of these products can also be seen from the sales data of the two giants Shopee and Lazada.

Especially in Indonesia, due to the impact of the epidemic, the country's consumers' demand for personal care and beauty products is also growing rapidly , and the transaction volume of beauty e-commerce platforms has also increased during the epidemic.

Social Bella is a good example. Data shows that as of now, the transaction volume of related products on the platform has increased by 50% compared with before the epidemic.

It is understood that Social Bella was established in 2015 with the aim of developing Indonesia's growing beauty and personal care market. It mainly operates its beauty e-commerce website Sociolla, which has about 30 million users in Indonesia .

Sociolla currently offers beauty, skin care, hair care, bath, nail care, accessories, fragrances and gifts .

It is understood that Social Bella also owns the SOCO beauty application, where users can purchase beauty products on SOCO.

Internal data shows that so far, SOCO's users have almost quadrupled in the past two years , and the huge user growth also shows the demand for such products among Indonesian consumers.

In addition, in July 2020, Social Bella also received US $58 million in Series E financing . It will use the funds to provide consumers with a better shopping experience through technical support.

Southeast Asia's beauty industry continues to grow

Social Bella 's growth during the epidemic reflects the core advantages of vertical e-commerce. Focusing on one category can touch users' needs more deeply, and its 30 million users in Indonesia can also bring it considerable traffic.

Last year, in order to provide better services to consumers, Sociolla also expanded its coverage and expanded to Vietnam , proving the company 's good adaptability during the pandemic .

Christopher Madiam, co-founder of Social Bella, said that all industries have experienced challenges during the epidemic , but the beauty industry will continue to grow this year , and Social Bella will also provide beauty services in a comprehensive and integrated manner.

Previously, Shopee’s cooperation with South Korea’s Amorepacific to expand the beauty market attracted a lot of attention, which shows that there is still great growth opportunity in the Southeast Asian beauty market. The 50% increase in Social Bella’s communication volume also confirms this.

Indonesian consumers' demand for beauty and skin care products also proves the resilience of this industry in Southeast Asia . Sellers who want to enter this industry can also consider the Southeast Asian market.
