About Trustly Trustly was founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 2008. Trustly allows customers to shop and pay directly from their bank accounts without using a card or downloading a bank app. In addition to Sweden, Trustly also provides payment services in 29 European countries including Denmark, Finland, Poland and Spain. Trustly has more than 6 million registered users and processes more than 12 million payments per month. Trustly's revenue in 2019 was approximately 130 million euros, a 58% increase from 2018, and is expected to reach 200 million euros by 2020. Trustly currently has more than 3,300 partner banks and has access to more than 6,000 merchants including PayPal, Alibaba, Facebook, eBay, etc., mainly in the European market, making it very suitable for access to industries such as e-commerce, games, financial services and tourism. Trustly has over 500 employees across 10 offices in Europe, America, and Australia. We believe that diversity drives innovation and results in more inclusive products. That’s why we’re proud that our workforce is made up of over 50 different nationalities.
Payment Methods at Trustly
Sustainability is at the core of Trustly's business model. When using Trustly, consumers pay with money they already have in their bank account, rather than assuming credit. As a pure debit payment method, Trustly is a sustainable payment method that does not increase consumer debt in society.
in principle At Trustly, we work with merchants and partners in a way that adheres to legal requirements and ethical standards. For example, when working with e-gaming merchants, we have a clear policy that states that we only work with e-gaming merchants licensed in the EU/EEA and the US. Trustly's e-gaming merchants go through three layers of control - the supervisory authority, their bank, and Trustly. On top of this, we are able to exclude further thanks to structures such as the Swedish Gambling Authority's banned operators list. We support the move towards a more coordinated and clearly defined regulated market for the benefit of citizens and industry players. |
