In 2024, TikTok's e-commerce plan aims to achieve a GMV of US$50 billion, more than double the 2023 target of US$20 billion. At the same time, it plans to expand its e-commerce business in the United States tenfold to US$17.5 billion.

 

This goal has put pressure on peers, but it has also given cross-border e-commerce sellers new business opportunities. As we head into 2024, more and more big sellers have announced that they are starting to invest in TikTok, and not only in the industry, but also in other industries. Under their investment, a wave of new positions have been launched, and the salaries are very attractive.

 

TikTok is "killing" overseas, and the popularity of related positions is rising

 

At present, there are more than 100,000 cross-border e-commerce entities in China , more than 690 cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, and cross-border e-commerce sales networks covering more than 220 countries and regions around the world. It is estimated that by 2025, the transaction volume of cross-border e-commerce in China will reach 2.5 trillion yuan.

 

In this process, TikTok e-commerce will definitely play an important role.

 

According to a survey by China Merchants Securities, as of the end of 2023, the number of TikTok merchants in the Indonesian market has exceeded 150,000, with both growth and number far exceeding other competitors.

 

The increase in merchants has led to a sharp increase in shipments, with data showing that TikTok ships 800 tons per day, according to data compiled by Cargo Facts Consulting.

An investor asked whether Legao Holdings' overseas warehouses had cooperated with TikTok and Pinduoduo to provide these cross-border e-commerce and foreign trade companies with a full range of cross-border logistics services such as logistics express, warehousing and other value-added services, to help Chinese brands go overseas.

 

The secretary replied: " Currently, many orders from Leckey's overseas warehouses come from the TikTok e-commerce platform. "

 

However, TikTok 's potential does not stop there. Ddemandsage data shows that as of 2024, TikTok has 1.7 billion registered users, and this number is expected to reach 2.13 billion in 2025. These growing users are undoubtedly potential consumer power.

In 2022, there were only 59 positions, but by 2023, the number of positions soared to 307, a growth rate of 228%. Your company has mature experience in operating overseas independent sites. Do you have any plans to enter Tiktok live streaming sales to seize the blue ocean?"

 

Lechuang Holdings said that the company is currently exploring the development of TikTok live streaming. In light of the actual situation, the company has always insisted on innovating brand marketing methods and actively striving to seek suitable market opportunities.

 

According to the information currently available, the big sellers in the cross-border circle that have already laid out plans for TikTok's IPO include Lechuang Holdings, Zhiou Technology, and Anker Innovations.

 

In the cross-border e-commerce industry, Anker Innovations was the first to be rumored to have a presence on TikTok, and it had already achieved good results during last year's Black Friday.

 

It is reported that the growth rate on TikTok Shop during Black Friday was very fast, with the growth rate of many stores exceeding 100%. One of them , a "foldable magnetic wireless portable charger" priced at $19.99, became the best-selling product in the "mobile phone digital" category of TikTok Shop from November 20 to 26, with a total sales of 23,100 units and a total sales of approximately $460,000.

In addition to Anker Innovations, Zhiou Technology, which successfully listed on the A-share market last year, also immediately invested in TikTok.

 

It is understood that in early July 2023, Zhiou Technology began to deploy TikTok e-commerce, and the first batch of TikTok Shop functions in the United States began to sell related products. The main method they adopted was to cooperate with Internet celebrities, and they have currently cooperated to launch multiple TikTok celebrity cooperation videos . In addition, the opening of the European TikTok Shop function is already in its preparation plan.

 

A domestic recruitment website shows that Zhiou Technology has launched a recruitment plan for TikTok social media operations, with a salary of 15k-25k.14.

 

 

Cross-border competitors are coming and recruiting a lot of people

 

Not long ago, both Dongfang Zhenxuan and Three Sheep announced their plans to enter TikTok's e-commerce market. The entry of cross-border competitors has boosted the popularity of many cross-border e-commerce sellers in the industry, and they have begun to redefine TikTok e-commerce and consider the possibility of a layout.

 

At the end of last year, the "de-Dong Yuhuiization" of Oriental Selection caused a lot of controversy, which ended with Dong Yuhui and Oriental Selection forming a partnership to form "Walking with Hui". However, the damage caused by this incident is obvious. At present, the number of online users in the Douyin live broadcast room of Oriental Selection has dropped from more than 100,000 to more than 10,000, and sometimes only a few thousand people.

 

Perhaps it was to seek a new way out, or perhaps it was already planned, but after the "small essay" incident, Oriental Selection began to plan to go overseas, and is now recruiting a large number of people.

 

A domestic recruitment website shows that Dongfang Zhenxuan has six recruiting positions , including business manager, store operation, content operation manager, operation manager, short video editor, and short video director, with salaries ranging from 15,000 to 40,000 yuan.

 

Among them, the content operation manager has the highest salary: 25K~40K. Job responsibilities include: 1. Responsible for the establishment, operation and management of Tiktok short video accounts; 2. Collect and produce short video content materials, and formulate operation and promotion plans to achieve fan growth; 3. Monitor and analyze Tiktok data, continuously optimize the effect, and propose corresponding countermeasures to improve the conversion rate of content; 4. Research new ways to play Tiktok short videos, new platform strategies, and trends of industry competitors.

 

 

Long before Dongfang Zhenxuan announced its trial of Tiktok e-commerce, another top anchor Xiao Yangge's company Three Sheep Network had already started overseas sales, with Singapore as the first stop. The sales model is to collaborate with overseas influencers to enable live sales, and most of the brands sold are Chinese local brands. However, no relevant recruitment plans for Three Sheep Network have been found on recruitment websites.

 

It is worth mentioning that in the conversation between New Oriental CEO Yu Minhong and Dong Yuhui, he mentioned that "Traveling with Hui" is currently considering the opportunity of overseas live broadcasts and may consider overseas live broadcast attempts in the future. If so, this track will be even more competitive in the future.
