Following shein, Sweden has welcomed another platform that "stirs up" the online market with low prices - Temu.
Temu entered the Swedish market in June this year. Since its launch, this application has almost always dominated the top spot in the list of free application downloads in the Apple market, and has always occupied the top three positions in the Android system.
Like in other countries, Temu has also been questioned here. The reason is still the questionable quality of the product and the environmental issues derived from the product's durability.
Some people believe that most of Temu's goods are shipped directly from domestic factories, and that these factories often have overproduction; Man bekommt das, wofür man bezahlt (you get what you pay for), and people should not expect to buy good quality goods at a low price.
Some people also think that in addition to the cheap price and shipping cost, the fast delivery speed and simple and intuitive application can give positive comments. However, the pungent smell after opening the express delivery is not so pleasant, and the product is different from the main picture on the detail page, and the quality is not good.
In the end, the smelly jeans were thrown into the trash because after initiating a return application, I was prompted that there was no need to return the goods, even though Temu provides free return services.
A Swedish textile expert said the cost of processing returns of these low-priced items is often higher than the products themselves, and the fact that the products are individually packed in plastic bags and flown halfway around the world makes shopping not environmentally friendly. In addition, Bernhard Egger, general manager of the Swiss Trade Federation, said that the issues heard about piracy, production ethics and conditions in the entire supply chain are very worrying. Because Temu does not officially cooperate with many big brands, but sells counterfeit products, this has also caused concerns among industry insiders about product quality and infringement of intellectual property rights.
Some Swedish netizens agree with these concerns of industry insiders:
“What’s so ‘sustainable’ about mail ordering from China?” “I don’t really buy from these companies, sustainability and quality are important to me.” "All online trade should be banned! It does nothing for the environment!"
Some Swedish netizens also think:
"The goods are first-rate and the prices are unbeatable. The same products in Switzerland cost several times more. The location of the goods is notified every few hours, which is a service I have never experienced in any company in Switzerland."
“As a middle-income family, chlorine or quality is not that important, (the low price) is the only option with current inflation and expensive Swiss products.” Temu Low price quality |
