Since the beginning of this year, cross-border logistics has been in turmoil. The Kuaijian incident has not yet subsided, and there are news in the industry that four freight forwarders will go bankrupt, including some of the industry's leading companies, and sellers are talking about it. Currently, three of the companies have issued statements denying this.
As UPS and the US Postal Service are vigorously investigating and punishing the accounts with water leakage, the freight forwarders who take advantage of this loophole are facing serious delivery challenges and financial pressure, which is a fuse for the current freight forwarding companies to go bankrupt. However, some freight forwarders did not stop their operations, but began to look for other channels of water leakage account resources as a substitute.
How can sellers determine whether they have made mistakes or lost their accounts? The industry has concluded that when freight forwarding companies use these reasons to reply to you, they are probably trying to avoid such issues.
A batch of freight forwarders will go bankrupt? Three companies issued emergency statements
In the past two days, a chat screenshot went viral in the cross-border circle. The chat content said that four freight forwarders including Kaiqi, Newcool and Lianyu heard that they were going to go bankrupt, and said bluntly, "The news is hearsay. If there is cooperation, stop the loss in time. If there is no cooperation, it is best."
These few words have made cross-border sellers sit up and take notice. Some sellers find it unbelievable. If it was just one of them that had a problem, it might be possible, but saying that four major freight forwarders all went bankrupt seems like nonsense. And until now, sellers are still communicating with salesmen from one of the cooperative companies. One seller sent a quotation message, "This was sent to me by Newcool today. The freight rate increased last week."
However, some sellers believe that there is no smoke without fire, and now is a sensitive period for freight forwarding companies to go bankrupt, so it is better to be cautious. Express Ship is an example.
As early as April this year or even earlier, some sellers asked "Is Express Ship no longer viable?". At the end of May, the news of Express Ship's collapse spread in the industry, but at this time, the "Express Ship Cross-border Logistics" official account was still being updated steadily every day, and it seemed calm. It was not until early June that a large number of media in the industry published articles on the Express Ship's collapse that the official account stopped updating on June 3.
This attitude of preferring to believe what is true has had a significant impact on the freight forwarding company. Soon, Lianyu and three other companies involved issued statements to refute the rumor and strongly denied it.
Lianyu Logistics said that it has discovered that there have been many malicious rumors about Lianyu Logistics on various platforms recently. It welcomes supervision and suggestions, but some people with ulterior motives deliberately spread rumors and maliciously smeared it. Lianyu statement:
1. The online rumors about Lianyu Group, such as "Lianyu collapsed, Lianyu fell, and there were problems", are all malicious slanders. We hereby warn the relevant parties to immediately withdraw the relevant slanderous remarks; 2. The act of deliberately fabricating facts and spreading false information has been handed over to the company’s judicial department for handling and evidence collection and rights protection.
Newcool 's response followed closely. It said: Recently, there have been rumors in the market about our company "about to go bankrupt", "funding shortage", "UPS lock-up", etc. Our company solemnly declares to the outside world that the above content is all rumors! Our company is currently operating in an orderly manner and everything is normal!
A few days ago, Jiang Liming, chairman of Newcool International, just sent a handwritten letter explaining the recent rumors.
"Since mid-May this year, I have been receiving feedback from my business colleagues that there are many rumors about Newcool International in the market. For example, it was said that more than 100 UPS cabinets of Newcool International were seized overseas using a UPS fraud account. Some even said that there was a problem with Newcool International's capital chain. " Jiang Liming did not want to explain too much, thinking that Newcool just had to do its job well, but he received several inquiries from customers in one day and decided to make a statement.
He said that when Newcool was first established, it was defined as only shipping containers overseas. So far, Newcool only ships 2-3 containers overseas each month, accounting for 0.5% of the total cargo volume. "So I am surprised where the rumors that Newcool International had more than 100 UPS containers seized came from."
After Newcool, Kaiqi Supply Chain also issued a statement that night. It stated that all online comments about "Kaiqi's bankruptcy" were malicious slander and defamation, and warned the relevant parties to immediately delete the relevant false comments and stop forwarding them. The company's legal department has collected evidence for the rumor.
Judging from their responses, all three companies blamed the incident on malicious competition among their peers in an effort to steal customers.
A mosaic-covered chat screenshot quickly spread throughout the cross-border circle, and the seller lamented: "We are really at the bottom of the food chain in the industry, and we are afraid that these news will really cause us losses."
The account is leaking, beware of these excuses from freight forwarders
Recently, UPS and the US Postal Service have cracked down on accounts with money laundering. Violating accounts face fines, account closures, and cargo seizures, which has caused great trouble for freight forwarding companies. A freight forwarder in Yiwu revealed that a large local company used accounts with money laundering and suffered heavy losses in this round of crackdown. Affected by this, some freight forwarding companies may not be able to maintain operations.
A freight forwarder approached a colleague and asked if there was any way to get FedEx's technology account. "I'm very anxious! This week I have 20 containers arriving at the port, estimated to be about 10,000 pieces of UPS, and next week there will be 16 containers arriving. If I can't find a special way to call UPS to work overtime, I think I'm going to be out of business. Or find a suitable FedEx account and change them all. "
Some people in the logistics industry are angry about their lack of efforts: "They are stubborn and will not change. If UPS fails, they will think of FedEx. It is only a matter of time. I think there will be more cases of greed like this."
The leaking accounts also hurt the sellers. A seller shipped goods to the MEM1 warehouse, but was suddenly asked by the freight forwarder to re-establish the warehouse. The freight forwarder said that UPS has recently restricted delivery and suggested that sellers place orders with FedEx. However, some Amazon warehouses may refuse to accept FedEx deliveries. MEM1, QXY9, and RGD1 are refusing warehouses, and BNA2, FTW9, SMF6, BFL2, and XLX6 have also recently refused to accept goods.
The seller was confused, and a freight forwarder analyzed for him that MEM1 would refuse FedEx delivery, and the seller's freight forwarder used FedEx, so he could ask the freight forwarder to use UPS for delivery. But the freight forwarder told the seller that FedEx was the only way to deliver the goods, and UPS could not be used or the freight forwarder could be used. The freight forwarder understood: "UPS is probably checking the account for water leakage, and their account is paralyzed. The UPS water leakage account has seriously hurt some freight forwarders, and they may go bankrupt if they can't survive. Urge your freight forwarder to deal with it."
How can sellers determine whether they have fallen into the trap of a fraudulent account? A logistics company has summarized that companies using fraudulent accounts may use the following 8 excuses to evade the problem:
1. UPS warehouse is full and cannot deliver goods. (Currently the warehouse is operating normally and there is no warehouse fullness.) 2. UPS information is disordered, delayed, or not scanned. ( UPS has a strict warehouse entry process, and there is a very small probability that there will be confusion, delays, etc.) 3. Replace the card pack. 4. UPS has limited pickup. ( This situation does not exist with UPS. It may be an excuse for the freight forwarder to delay processing the goods.) 5. UPS debits the wrong goods ( UPS debits goods according to account numbers and rarely debits wrong goods. Even if there are a few boxes of wrong goods, it is impossible to debit a large number of them.) 6. UPS cannot make an appointment. (It is currently off-season, and UPS reservations are in good condition. It is not impossible to make an appointment. It may be that the overseas warehouse has used a fraudulent account before and was found by UPS, resulting in the overseas warehouse address being blacklisted and unable to make an appointment.) 7. Change the FedEx shipping label. (It is very likely because the UPS account has been blacklisted) 8. The goods are inspected. (The inspection rate in the market is not high at present)
Sellers can refer to this to make identification and try to avoid being scammed by freight forwarders with illicit accounts. logistics |
