Take it off the shelves! Highly rated lamps cause copyright infringement, and many sellers have been sued

I believe everyone has heard the news that the United States Patent and Trademark Office collapsed a few days ago due to too many trademark applications. With the hot registration of patents and trademarks, infringement incidents caused by trademarks and patents occur almost every day.

Recently, a brand named LAI LLC commissioned David Gulbransen, a professional American intellectual property protection law firm, to sue several sellers for infringement of the word trademark of its outdoor lighting brand [LuminAID]!

LuminAID, which has its own official website on Amazon, specializes in solar lanterns. This style of solar lantern has two charging methods (solar and USB) , a lighting time of 24 hours when fully charged , and multiple brightness settings.

There is an inflation hole on the side of the product, and a simple blow can turn it into a rectangular lantern. It is lightweight and foldable, IP67 waterproof and dustproof, and completely safe for children. It can be used in camping, fishing, picnics, emergency preparation and other occasions to provide users with perfect indoor or outdoor light.

As LuminAID's flagship product, this product currently has over 5,000 stars on Amazon. It has been shortlisted for multiple Amazon sales lists and has a score of 4.7 points, which can be said to be rave reviews.

One seller said: "It is brighter than we thought, helping us to drive away the darkness when camping, and it can be used for a long time when fully charged. I have already bought another one for my friends, and they also like it."

But as mentioned above, many sellers were sued. "LuminAID" was registered as a trademark when it was listed on Amazon in April 2019. Therefore, sellers with related products and keywords should remove them from the shelves in time to avoid getting into trouble.

As foreigners are leaving their homes one after another, the "outdoor economy" is slowly emerging. Coupled with the hot weather in summer, the sales of various outdoor products are gradually increasing, and it has also become the product selection direction of many sellers.

However, as long as it is a popular product, there may be a certain risk of infringement. Sellers must pay attention to self-examination when selecting products, and use keywords carefully, avoid brand words with infringement risks, and try to avoid all infringement sparks.
