Annual subscription also blocked accounts! Independent website sellers can’t bear it anymore

Annual subscription also blocked accounts! Independent website sellers can’t bear it anymore

In recent years, many domestic cross-border sellers have been stepping up their efforts to "de-Amazonize", reducing their dependence on Amazon and developing more diversified sales channels to reduce the impact of Amazon's account ban on the company's revenue.

Among them, setting up an independent website is the channel that most sellers will choose. Driven by this trend, many small and medium-sized sellers are also eager to start their own independent website journey.

However, unlike big sellers who have abundant technical resources and can build their own websites, more small and medium-sized sellers will choose website building tools such as Shopify to build their own websites.

Although these tools make it easier to build a website, there are also potential risks. Like Amazon, sellers are subject to various restrictions imposed by the platform and do not have full control over their own stores.

Recently, many sellers reported that their Shopify stores were blocked, and there was still no result after a long appeal process.

Seller Dahai shared his experience and said that he has run an online store on Shopify for a year and a half, the product categories have not changed, and no new products have been added.

But recently I suddenly found that my account was blocked. The official reason given was that some products in my store had plagiarized other people’s pictures or were selling infringing goods.

After several rounds of communication with Shopify customer service, Dahai deleted the products that posed a risk of infringement and replaced some product images collected from external channels.

As a result, after resubmitting for review, it was found that it still did not comply with the regulations. Finally, the official customer service notified that we would give 7 days to back up the data and that we had decided to completely close the account.

Dahai felt helpless about this result but had to accept it. When sorting out his account information, he found that there was about half a year left on the annual subscription he bought, so he thought about contacting customer service to see if he could get a refund. The reply he got was that annual subscriptions were not refundable.

Not only did they lose the lady but they also lost their troops. Just like that, the cross-border journey across the sea ended abruptly before it even got off to the right track.

In fact, sellers who encounter this kind of situation are not isolated cases. After many times of falling into the trap, some sellers have summarized several behaviors that may lead to account suspension:

1. Fill in domestic personal information on the website and fill in overseas shipping address

2. IP address changes frequently, and login address is frequently switched

3. Modify the bound credit card information

4. The product itself is of poor quality, or there are problems such as the goods not matching the pictures.

5. Use domestic mailbox

In short, whether you are running an independent website or Amazon, product compliance is very important. Generally speaking, as long as you operate a store properly and do not engage in unorthodox practices, the probability of being blocked is still very low.
