Amazon launches another large-scale verification campaign! Are all sellers affected?

Recently, Amazon sellers have been busy with various verifications. A large number of sellers have not yet completed phone verification and address verification. Amazon has also urgently pushed a verification notification for the Consumer Notification Act in the background. Starting yesterday afternoon, some sellers received reminders about the verification information of the Act and were reminded that their accounts were at risk of being deactivated.

This morning, a large number of sellers received verification prompts, and the account information page crashed again. It can be confirmed that this is a large-scale or even collective verification. The seller group has exploded. In addition to complaining about Amazon's crazy verification, sellers are also asking around for advice on how to solve the verification information and what precautions to take.

"Amazon sellers don't need to do anything else today. Just prepare the information for account verification," said a seller.

Verification is widespread and accounts are at risk of being deactivated

In the past, the first thing Amazon sellers did after logging into their stores was to check their orders, but this habit that has lasted for many years has been changed by Amazon. "In the past week, the first thing I did every day when I logged into the store was to check if there was any request for re-authentication!" The seller was very angry.

Sure enough, today is another day that requires verification. On multiple Amazon seller groups and social platforms, the news of receiving verification has been flooding the screen:

"The accounts were collectively verified today, right? It seems like everyone received it."

"I checked and found that all accounts require information verification, which is really annoying."

"A warning about the risk of suspension came early in the morning..."

All my 39 accounts are verified.

"The account information page crashed, and Amazon issued a large-scale verification."

" Different accounts have different audit requirements, and Amazon's backend is overwhelmed. "

Compared with the previous verification notifications, the feedback volume this time is significantly larger. Sellers believe that this is a centralized verification, which is why Amazon's backend is flooded. In addition, the platform directly warns that the account is at risk of being deactivated, which makes many sellers dare not take it lightly.

The sellers quickly clicked the verification button, but after opening it, the website showed an error message. After refreshing, there was no option to verify, which made them lose their composure. But after seeing the verification content, the sellers were confused: Wasn’t this the information that was just verified two days ago? Why is it required to verify again now ?

Verify your identity, phone number, bank account, office address and tax number in accordance with the Consumer Notification Act. Yes, it was the verification notice that was sent to sellers a few days ago.

It is undeniable that some sellers have received notifications before but have not yet completed verification; however, accounts that have just passed verification are now prompted to do it again. Sellers suspect that the platform is playing a joke. To be more precise, is there a bug?

Amazon seller Xiafanmao consulted customer service: "My account suddenly showed today that one or more operations are awaiting verification according to the law, but in fact I just completed the verification a few days ago, and it also showed successful verification when I clicked in. Is this a system bug or does it need to be verified again?"

Customer service reply: Many sellers reported that the warning banner is still there, which is worrying. Sellers don’t need to worry, the banner is just a reminder. Just wait for it to disappear by itself. If it has been verified, there is no need to operate again.

A seller sent a notification from a business manager: " Today, it seems that all sellers have popped up a reminder about the Consumer Notification Act information verification in their backends. When the seller tried to submit the verification, it showed a system error. It should be a system problem. It is recommended not to do anything today. We will follow up with the US team in a timely manner and notify you when there is the latest news. "

Another investment manager also suggested that sellers wait patiently. "This regulatory requirement was issued by the US government to Amazon, and every seller will eventually be triggered. If you are unclear or unsure about the content to be filled in, it is recommended that you do not complete it yet. We will provide complete guidance next week."

How do sellers get verified?

At present, some sellers who have not been verified are rushing to verify as if they have received the final warning, but there are still some questions about the information. Sellers who have passed the verification have temporarily calmed down and are ready to wait and see.

"Prepare the information and submit it next week. If you want to submit it today, the backend server has to allow it." A seller joked.

After receiving a new round of verification, many sellers knew that they needed to provide new verification materials, but they could not find the page to upload the materials. Some sellers said that there was no place to upload files in performance notifications, account performance, and emails. They did not know where to upload the materials or what information to upload.

An old seller shared his verification experience: after clicking on the account information, find the deposit method, and there is a verification button behind it; click to enter the bank account verification interface and submit the bank account statement: the bill information of the receiving account (when downloading the bill, you need to fill in the company address and name yourself, you can directly go to the store backend to copy and paste); if it is a third-party platform, you need to find the corresponding platform to handle it.

Maybe many sellers are verifying at the same time, and everyone found that there was a problem in the first step - the account information page crashed and could not be opened at all. Regarding this problem, a colleague consulted customer service and got the reply: system problem, let everyone wait a moment. This problem has been solved by someone: if the account information page is visited too much, the seller can directly click the bank account on the account status page to enter the deposit method.

However, during the verification process, many colleagues are still confused about the specific operational details.

It is understood that bank account verification is a process of verifying bank account ownership. Amazon will require payment card and deposit method bank account information when registering. This verification requires sellers to verify existing bank details or add and verify a new bank account. Adding or changing bank account information will trigger a three-day security hold during which funds cannot be transferred. Only the primary account owner can make changes related to payment information.

Amazon officials also introduced the specific verification situations in two cases.

1. Verify current /existing payment tools

1. Log in to the Amazon Seller Platform, click "Settings > Account Information > Payment Information > Deposit Methods > Manage Deposit Methods", and find the verification entrance.

2. After submitting the required information, the seller account information page will display "Your account is being verified."

3. If the verification is successful, your seller account information page will prompt "Verification Successful".

4. At this time, click the "Assign" button on the right side of the "Deposit Information" page to enter the "Assign Deposit Method" page, click the "Set Deposit Method" button below to assign the successfully verified bank account to the store on the US site to receive payments.

2. Add a new bank account

1. Same as above.

2. Add and provide the corresponding bank account information. After successfully adding, return to the previous page and click "Manage Deposit Methods" for verification.

3. If the verification is successful, the seller’s account information page will prompt “Verification successful”.

4. Same as above.

It is worth noting that the bank account statement provided by the seller must also meet certain requirements, as follows:

The account holder name on your bank statement should match the contact name or company name you provided to Amazon;

The account number on the bank statement should match the account number provided;

The bank statement should be issued within the last 180 days;

Make sure bank statements are legible;

In the case of a payment service provider, the bank statement should be from one of the participating payment service providers;

Acceptable file sizes are no larger than 15MB and are in the following formats: png, tiff, tif, jpg, jpeg and pdf.

Sellers can try to verify according to the above operations. This large-scale outbreak of identity verification has once again caused sellers to panic, but since it is a mass incident, there is no need to worry too much, just submit the information normally for review.
