Russians seem to have a special fondness for precious metal rings. According to a survey by the Russian online platform Ozon Market, one-third of Russians like to buy precious metal rings as gifts for themselves, while others will give them as gifts to family and friends.
In the Ozon market, people are increasingly interested in online shopping for jewelry rings, with demand for jewelry rings increasing 2.6 times year-on-year in 2022. And many Russians prefer to buy jewelry sets directly, and the demand for this category increased 3.6 times last year.
The survey shows that nearly two-thirds of Russians ( 63%) will choose to buy precious metal rings as gifts because they believe that rings symbolize friendship, loyalty and love. 13% of respondents will give rings to friends and significant others, and another 10% will give them to their wives or husbands. About half of the respondents will buy jewelry on important holidays (such as birthdays, weddings, etc.), and a quarter of them will give it as a surprise without any holiday or reason.
Russians are very careful when choosing rings, and they like to choose interesting designs. About 40% of people choose round rings with gemstones , 27% of people give geometric rings, 8% of people prefer rings with leaves and branches, and 7% of people choose unusual shapes (paper clips, nails, locks, etc.).
For themselves, about half of Russians ( 49%) prefer to buy a simple ring with a gemstone. Such an accessory can give them confidence and match their daily clothes. 43% said that they buy a ring for no reason at all - just to treat themselves. For such a gift, 44% of respondents said they would be willing to spend less than 10,000 rubles, 22% would spend up to 25,000 rubles, and only 7% would spend more than 50,000 rubles.
More than half of Russians ( 56%) prefer to buy jewelry online, including online marketplaces (20%). Another 44% consider it important to try on and feel the ring first, so they go to specialized offline stores.
Interestingly, more expensive rings worth more than 50,000 rubles were most often bought by residents of Moscow (15%), Kazan, Krasnoyarsk and Yekaterinburg (6% each), and Ufa, Omsk and Novosibirsk (5% each). Russia ring |
