Alibaba International Station's "Million Foreign Trade Talent Program" opens a cross-border e-commerce training platform for free

Alibaba International Station's "Million Foreign Trade Talent Program" opens a cross-border e-commerce training platform for free

On October 27 , Alibaba International Station announced the launch of the "Million Foreign Trade Talent Plan", which will work with more than 2,000 universities to select 1 million cross-border e-commerce professionals for China's foreign trade SMEs in the next three years, and open the cross-border e-commerce training simulation platform and related advanced training systems to universities and SMEs for free. This is another important move by Alibaba International Station after incorporating talent training into the cross-border e-commerce digital service trade system.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the penetration rate of e-commerce has increased significantly worldwide, and the trend of online procurement is irreversible; the shortage of digital professionals has become a "real problem" for small and medium-sized enterprises going overseas . According to the survey results of the National Service Outsourcing Human Resources Research Institute of Tsinghua University, more than 70% of domestic cross-border e-commerce companies believe that the lack of professional talents has become the biggest bottleneck restricting the development of enterprises , especially the lack of digital operations. Small and medium-sized enterprises are faced with the pain points of limited offline talent options, low online talent screening efficiency and high costs.

Alibaba International Station was previously recognized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security as a training and evaluation organization for cross-border e-commerce B2B data operations talents, and jointly with Tsinghua University issued the "Cross-border E-commerce B2B Data Operation Professional Skills Standards" . This talent program has helped small and medium-sized enterprises cultivate and introduce more than 30,000 foreign trade talents; data also shows that more than 50% of these young people 's first orders after joining the company exceeded US$10,000 .

Recently, the State Council's executive meeting reviewed and approved the " 14th Five-Year Plan for Employment Promotion". Gao Gao, deputy secretary-general of the National Development and Reform Commission, explained to the media that it is necessary to highlight the training of high-skilled talents and urgently needed talents, focus on cultivating innovative, application-oriented and skilled talents, accelerate the training of urgently needed talents in key areas, and implement a knowledge update project for professional and technical talents.

Relevant surveys show that the shortage of foreign trade professionals in China's small and medium-sized enterprises exceeds 6 million. The "Million Foreign Trade Talent Plan" released by Alibaba International Station is an upgrade of the original talent project. The plan shows that Alibaba International Station will work with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Education and other ministries and commissions, expert groups from universities such as Tsinghua University, and industry leading associations to design cross-border e-commerce talent training stratification standards, as well as a cross-border e-commerce teaching and training system including textbooks, courseware, question banks, and examination systems . Alibaba International Station has developed the first cross-border e-commerce training simulation platform and is permanently open to universities across the country for free . In order to help small and medium-sized enterprises retain talent, the International Station also provides relevant advanced training to small and medium-sized enterprises free of charge.

Zhang Kuo, vice president of Alibaba Group and general manager of the International Station, told reporters that the International Station is no longer just a cross-border trade matchmaking platform, but is building a digital cross-border service trade system that includes information flow, capital flow, logistics, and talent cultivation . "We will continue to invest heavily in the construction of cross-border e-commerce infrastructure, adhere to long-term value, and help small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises improve their ability to resist risks when going overseas and develop new digital capabilities."
