What is C-Tick Certification? C-Tick Certification Review, Features

C-Tick certification is a C-Tick test report provided by the Australian EMC certification project laboratory, and Australian importers then use the C-Tick test report for registration. A/C-Tick is a certification mark issued by the Australian Communications Authority (ACA) for communication equipment.

About C-Tick Certification

C-Tick certification is an Australian EMC certification project. In addition to safety labels, electronic and electrical products entering Australia should also have an EMC mark, namely the C-Tick mark, in order to protect the resources of the radio communication frequency band. Before applying for the C-Tick mark, it must be tested according to the relevant CISPR standards, endorsed and submitted by Australian importers, and accepted by the Australian ACA (Australian Commication Authority) and issued a registration number. C-Tick certification is a mandatory certification in Australia. Generally, products must undergo C-Tick certification, which is equivalent to a product quality certificate. Only after certification, indicating that the product meets the requirements, can it enter the market and be accepted, and sales will be better.

Certification Mark

The C-Tick mark must be marked with the information of the Australian supplier in accordance with regulations so that ACA can effectively trace back to the supplier responsible for the EMC of the product when sampling products in the market.

Information identification includes four aspects:

1. The registered name and address of the Australian supplier.

2. Australian Company Number.

3. A number issued by ACA to Australian suppliers.

4. Australian registered trademarks used by products in the Australian market.

Required Information

1. The full name and detailed contact address of the manufacturer of the product applying for certification and the party applying for certification.

2. A copy of the installation and use manual of the certified product will be provided to the user. If the product does not have a user manual, a draft copy of the relevant content can be provided.

3. Product electrical schematic diagram and working principle description.

4. A table of the operating oscillation frequencies of the relevant products, which should list the signal propagation path and the corresponding oscillation frequency.

5. Some other product features that need to be explained.

Unless otherwise specified, the above information should be provided in English. For applications with multiple models, please provide information for each model separately. For applications with a series of products, please attach the similarities and differences between the different models.

Scope of certification

1. Industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) equipment, and audio-visual equipment.

2. Household electrical appliances.

3. Power tools and electric heating appliances.

4. Lighting and similar equipment.

5. Information technology equipment.

6. Products that do not require application are:

· a device manufactured outside Australia and not imported for sale into Australia;

Devices imported from New Zealand and sold in Australia and already comply with New Zealand regulations.

7. Products that are not within the scope of application.

Certification Process

1. Samples;

2. Product information;

3. Application form;

4. Sign the contract;

5. Arrange the down payment;

6. Conduct testing;

7. Issue a report;

8. Arrange the balance payment.

Precautions

1. Test report - must be issued by NATA or a certification body that has mutual concessions with NATA, such as a laboratory accredited by NVLAP or A2LA to be valid. Otherwise, the probability of requiring samples to be sent for testing is very high.

2. "Application to use the C-tick Mark" Form - must be signed by the Australian/New Zealand company or importer.

3. "Supplier's Declaration of Conformity" Form - must be signed by the Australian/New Zealand company or importer. The manufacturer who signs the declaration is responsible for ensuring that the products sold still comply with EMI regulations.

4. Original design drawings and specifications (such as circuit diagrams, block diagrams, User's Manual and Service Manual, etc.).

5. Describe the production inspection procedures during manufacturing to ensure the maintenance of EMI characteristics.

6. Description of any changes that may affect EMI and necessary test records.

Manufacturers and importers use C-Tick certification steps

1. The product is tested according to ACAQ technical standards.

2. Register with ACA to use A/C-Tick.

3. Fill out the Declaration of Conformity Form and keep it together with the product compliance records.

4. Affix a label with the A/C-Tick logo on the communication product or equipment.

5. Selling to consumers A-Tick is only applicable to communication products, and most electronic products apply for C-Tick. However, if electronic products apply for A-Tick, they do not need to apply for C-Tick separately. Since November 2001, the EMI applications of Australia and New Zealand have been merged; if the product is to be sold in these two countries, the following documents must be prepared before marketing in case of random inspection by ACA (Australian Communications Authority) or New Zealand (Ministry of Economic Development) authorities at any time.
