With a 7% increase in visits, is Shopee’s expansion into Poland unstoppable?

According to the latest data from Polish research firm Mediapanel , Shopee became the e-commerce platform with the largest increase in new buyers in Poland in April , with its visits increasing by 7.27% year-on-year to 10.92 million , ranking third after Allegro.pl ( 22 million ) and AliExpress ( 11.08 million ) .

In addition, Shopee ranked third in the Polish e-commerce platform shopping time with an average shopping time of about 30 minutes per person. Buyers on Allegro spent the longest time shopping, an average of 1 hour and 41 minutes per person. Vinted.pl was second, with an average shopping time of 1 hour and 26 minutes per person , and AliExpress ranked fourth with an average shopping time of 22 minutes per person.

It is understood that Polish consumers consider shopping on Shopee because the seller can only receive the payment after the transaction is completed (the goods are received and no returns or refunds are given ) .

In the past two years, Shopee has been developing rapidly and successfully snatched Lazada's position as the leader of Southeast Asian e-commerce. Not satisfied with this, Shopee is ambitious and continues to expand into the European and Latin American markets , and currently occupies a large share in these two markets . In September last year , Shopee announced its entry into Poland with great fanfare and quickly expanded the market, attracting the attention of Polish consumers.

According to the latest data from market research firm Apptopia, Shopee 's app downloads ranked first among global e-commerce platform apps in 2021. SHEIN followed closely behind, while Amazon, which has always ranked first, fell to fourth.

Not long ago, Shopee announced that the Polish site will add a new SLS logistics channel: Przesyłka Ekonomiczna (Economic Channel-Delivery to Door) at 15:00 on May 13 , 2022 (Singapore time). It is understood that this change will not affect the cost of sellers, but will only provide buyers with more free shipping channels. In addition, this free shipping channel is only applicable to parcels with small size and weight.

Although Poland's e-commerce development started relatively late, it has developed rapidly. According to relevant surveys, more than 90% of Polish B2B companies plan to develop more online channels , and more than 25% of B2B companies said that 80% of their revenue is generated by online channels .

After the outbreak of the epidemic, 11,000 new online stores appeared in Poland , and 95% of the new e-commerce companies said they experienced the joy of double growth in sales and the number of buyers .
