Amazon issued an announcement that sellers can prepare for Prime Day

It’s only April, and Amazon has begun notifying sellers to prepare for this year’s Prime Day promotion.

In a recent notice, Amazon informed sellers: "Now is the time to prepare for the 2023 Prime Day promotion." However, as in the past, Amazon did not disclose the specific start date of this major annual shopping event.

It is worth noting that last year, Amazon also held its second Prime Day event in October, called "Early Membership Event". I wonder if there will be a second big promotion this year.

In this announcement, Amazon recommends that sellers prepare for the promotion as early as possible and prepare sufficient inventory for discounted products in advance.

Sellers must create their own Prime Day discounted products by April 28 to participate in this year’s event.

Sellers must ensure their inventory arrives at Amazon’s U.S. fulfillment centers by June 15, 2023.

Amazon reminded sellers that "we recommend shipping early and taking into account potential logistics, weather, customs or carrier issues."

In addition, Amazon also recommends that sellers stay tuned for the latest announcements about Prime Day in the coming months to avoid missing out on important information.

Last year, Amazon's Prime Day was on July 12 and 13, but pre-launch promotions and deals only for Prime members began on June 21. And on October 11-12, a "Prime Early Access Promotion" was held.

In the fourth quarter report, Amazon gave some key sales data for Prime Day last year: "During Prime Day last year, Amazon consumers around the world purchased more than 300 million products, an average of more than 100,000 items per minute, among which the best-selling categories were equipment, consumer electronics and home products."

As the deadline approaches, many sellers are gearing up to receive a surge in orders. However, when it comes time to stock up, many sellers may have a headache about how much stock to stock up.

If you prepare too much but cannot sell it, you will end up with a backlog of inventory. If you prepare too little and sell it all, you can only watch others make money. At this time, sellers still need to combine their past experience, not be too aggressive, and be steady in their pursuit of victory.
