In early November, Alibaba eWTP Global Digital Talent Project Teacher Training Fall Class was launched in Hangzhou , providing two months of online training for 200 business teachers from universities in six countries, including Mexico, Tunisia, Pakistan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan. After the training, the teachers will bring the relevant courses back to their own countries and teach the digital economy experience to nearly 10,000 business students.
It is understood that the training was initiated by Alibaba eWTP International Digital Talent ( GDT for short) , and this year is the 6th year of the project .
In recent years, as cross-border e-commerce and digital trade have become increasingly popular, the demand for related talents has also increased. Universities around the world have also opened related majors in line with the trend. However, many Belt and Road countries lack practical course content related to the digital economy. Therefore, eWTP courses are quite popular.
The courses of Alibaba eWTP digital talent project teacher training are highly practical: teachers from overseas universities will systematically learn theoretical content such as the overview of China's digital economy, the digital transformation of traditional enterprises, new retail, smart logistics, new finance, and new manufacturing, as well as entrepreneurial practical content such as the overall business perspective, product and service design, digital marketing, and start-up investment and financing. After the training, teachers will return to their respective universities and incorporate what they have learned into the credit courses of their universities. They will not only teach the training content for the second time, but also use local traditional enterprises as practice bases to work with students to carry out digital transformation for enterprises: including online products, opening online stores, using digital payments, digital logistics, etc.
Malaysia 's Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman is the first partner university of Alibaba's eWTP global digital talent program. Since 2017, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman has begun teaching course content and teaching materials produced by Alibaba, and has trained nearly 3,000 students in total. Among them, business teacher Dr. Winnie led her students to carry out a rural e-commerce project, re-positioning and packaging the local soy sauce, chili sauce, and handicrafts in Malaysia, and put them on the Lazada platform for sale to generate income for local villagers . Malaysia's INTI International University has been cooperating with Alibaba's eWTP global digital talent program since 2018. Alex was one of the first university teachers from Malaysia to come to China to participate in digital economy training. During this training, Alex experienced the success of rural e-commerce in China and was attracted by the inclusive development of live e-commerce . After returning to Malaysia, Alex applied what he learned in the training to teaching practice . During the epidemic, Alex was also appointed by the Malaysian government to carry out vocational training for unemployed groups and unemployed graduates to help them improve their e-commerce and live marketing skills. It is understood that, so far, Alibaba eWTP Global Digital Talent Program has cooperated with universities or training institutions in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Rwanda, Mexico, Colombia, Outer Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Vietnam and other countries, and has trained more than 1,500 teachers and tens of thousands of students for more than 30 universities and training institutions around the world. The output teaching content has become part of the credit courses of overseas universities . Among them, the teacher and student team in Mexico has built 8 Taobao villages, which effectively helped the local digital economy transformation. Alibaba eWTP Belt and Road Initiative |
