Attention! A large number of Amazon home products have been recalled

Recently, the editor learned from the official website of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission that a batch of Amazon furniture products were required to be recalled. Let’s take a look at which products are involved.

1. AmazonBasics Memory Foam Mattress

The recall affects 10-inch and 12-inch AmazonBasics memory foam mattresses. The recalled mattresses are available in twin, full, queen, king and California king sizes. The mattresses are white with "amazonbasics" printed on the footboard and come with a white federal label that reads "Amazon.com Services Inc."

The main reason for the recall is that the mattress does not meet the mandatory federal mattress flammability standards and poses a fire hazard. Currently, Amazon is contacting all buyers and will arrange shipments directly to provide consumers with free new mattresses.

2. Arc Series Furniture

The recall mainly involves the Arc Collection furniture under Design Within Reach. The product types include chairs, high stools and tables. The US Consumer Product Safety Association believes that the lead content of the surface paint of this product exceeds the federal lead paint ban standard, posing a risk of lead poisoning, especially adverse effects on children's health.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Association recommends that consumers immediately stop using the recalled furniture and contact Design Within Reach for return instructions and a full refund. Currently, Design Within Reach is directly contacting all buyers for after-sales work.

3. Ottomans Footstool

The recall involves the Meridian Furniture Joy Velvet Ottoman/Stools ottoman. The ottoman is made of velvet and has a gold or silver metal band around the bottom. It is about 17 inches high and 14 inches wide. Meridian Furniture has received six reports of cuts caused by the sharp edge of the metal band.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that consumers immediately stop using the recalled footstools and contact Meridian Furniture to obtain a prepaid mailing package and shipping label to return the product to Meridian Furniture. Consumers can also obtain a full refund by providing Meridian with photographic evidence of the product's disposal and destruction.

The safety requirements for furniture products are second only to those for infant products. After all, furniture is the most commonly used and touched item in people’s lives. The editor would like to remind all sellers to always pay attention to product safety information to avoid unnecessary losses.
