Zhao Jian said that with the continuous high-quality growth of China's industrial chain, the overseas expansion of domestic products, especially Chinese brands, has promoted the transformation and upgrading of the international supply chain , and put forward higher requirements for the entire cross-border logistics and supply chain industry .
"We have observed that more and more OEM and OEM production have begun to transform into independent brands going global, increasing investment in innovation and R&D , and continuously extending to both ends of the ' smile curve ' . " Zhao Jian told reporters that in the past, traditional OEM and ODM often could not reach consumers directly and understand consumer insights. Today, Chinese factories and integrated industrial and trade merchants rely on cross-border e-commerce and independent websites to reach consumers directly, and their voice in logistics has increased. As a result, the formation of a closed-loop supply chain of demand - design - manufacturing -logistics requires more efficient, stable, and high-quality international supply chain services.
As a globalized logistics industry internet company, one of Cainiao's core strategic layouts is globalization. As of now, Cainiao's average daily cross-border parcel volume has reached nearly 5 million. It has built six core logistics hubs around the world, including a cross-border warehouse of 3 million square meters , and provides air, land and sea transportation services to more than 100 countries and more than 300 ports around the world . Zhao Jian said that we have seen that the entire international trade presents the characteristics of " small batch ", "high frequency" and "fragmentation". That is, the amount of each overseas order has "shrunk", but the frequency of orders has increased. Therefore, there is an urgent need for highly certain end-to-end cross-border logistics to ensure the safety of receiving " small batch " goods. At the same time, this also puts forward higher requirements for the certainty of overseas warehouse inventory management. Only by reasonably allocating inventory can we better grasp sales opportunities.
"In this process, we found that the business flow and payment in the entire international trade ecosystem are highly digitized. In contrast, logistics is still a relatively weak link in the cross-border ecosystem , which contains huge opportunities for the next platform-level industrial Internet. As digitalization continues to move towards inclusiveness, it will also become the core driving force for the development of international logistics. "
The reporter learned that Cainiao has been committed to creating digital cross-border logistics solutions. Cainiao's three smart logistics hubs, eHub , have been launched in Liege, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, China, and have further enhanced the digital capabilities of cross-border logistics through hard-core technologies such as lightweight handheld terminals LEMO PDA and digital customs clearance . In addition, Cainiao's overseas warehouse smart supply chain system "Freight Advisor" can realize one-click operations such as overseas warehouse and distribution estimated quotation, stocking guidance, and inventory management.
