Walmart launches new seller support program, waiving 50% of sales commission

Recently, Walmart announced the launch of a new seller support program - the "New-Seller Savings" campaign to encourage more new sellers to join Walmart's third-party marketplace .

It is reported that sellers who join Walmart's third-party marketplace before May 31, 2022 and start selling on Walmart.com before June 30, 2022 will receive a 90-day 50% sales commission discount.

At the same time, sellers who are approved to join Walmart Fulfillment Service ( WFS) can get 90 days of free storage and a 10% delivery discount if they complete the operation setup and ship the goods (at least one) to Walmart distribution centers before June 30, 2022. Goods shipped through WFS will have exclusive Walmart packaging and will be classified as "delivered by Walmart."

Walmart says selling on Walmart.com gives new sellers access to millions of monthly visitors .

Not only do sellers benefit from Walmart ’s built-in audience, Walmart Marketplace also offers free installation and sellers can grow their business with Walmart using Walmart ’s ecosystem of innovative solutions, such as Walmart Fulfillment Services and Walmart Connect.

Over the past year, Walmart has been increasing the strength and global reach of Walmart Marketplace.

In 2021, Walmart began allowing qualified retailers on the BigCommerce platform to sell products directly on the Walmart marketplace. In June 2020 , Walmart established the same cooperation with the independent station Shopify .

In January 2022, Walmart began inviting selected Indian sellers to join the Walmart Marketplace. In July 2020 , the company led a $1.2 billion financing round, acquiring a 77% majority stake in Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart, and in December 2021, it strategically co-invested with Flipkart in Ninjacart, an Indian agricultural supply chain technology platform .

In May 2021, Walmart integrated with the logistics and transportation platform ShipBob to provide two- day delivery services to small and medium-sized retailers in the United States .

Additionally, ShipBob provides Walmart Marketplace sellers with a single view of inventory, orders, and shipments across all sales channels and locations , strengthening the fulfillment network for online orders.

Walmart has a strong retail foundation, and its performance in peak season orders is particularly outstanding . In many categories, Walmart has a high consumer group and high consumption frequency. In recent years, its development and business expansion have been very rapid, and it has also made great efforts to attract new buyers ! Therefore, more and more sellers have joined the operation of Walmart platform.

The current support plan is very attractive to new sellers.
