On International Women's Day, Lazada, Southeast Asia's flagship e-commerce platform, announced the results of the second "Lazada Forward Women Awards 2022". A total of 18 Southeast Asian female merchants with outstanding performance on the Lazada platform and 3 Chinese cross-border female merchants won this honor.
In addition to the "Creative Award", "Enterprising Award" and "Inspiring Award" awarded last year , this year's Lazada Pioneer Women Award has added the "Rising Star Award", "Bricks to Clicks Tech Adopter Award", "Social Star Award" and the most important "Lazada Forward Woman of the Year Award". The latter, as the highest honor of this year's award, was awarded to six merchants in Lazada's six major markets and a cross-border merchant from China. These awards perfectly illustrate the perseverance and daring entrepreneurial spirit of female merchants in the pursuit of their career dreams, as well as their efforts to actively give back to the local community in addition to their commercial achievements.

Wang Huachun, a representative of cross-border merchants from Shenzhen, won the "Lazada Female Merchant of the Year" award, which was awarded for the first time this year . Since joining Lazada in 2020, Wang Huachun has made full use of the advantages of Guangdong's clothing industry, choosing women's underwear as a breakthrough, and successfully marketing in Southeast Asia through Lazada. Today, Wang Huachun can make bold innovations from category trends to product color and store visual tonality based on the culture and consumer needs of different countries in Southeast Asia. With the help of Lazada's cross-border operation team, she is proficient in using various store operation functions and tools such as Business Advisor and Data Perspective, becoming a leader in the Chinese clothing industry going overseas to Southeast Asia.
In addition, Fu Dan from Hangzhou won the 2022 Lazada Pioneer Women Award "Entrepreneurial Spirit Award", and Li Ping from Yiwu won the 2022 Lazada Pioneer Women Award "Inspirational Merchant Award". Fu Dan opened a power tool store on Lazada in 2019 and was one of the first merchants to choose to store goods in Lazada's overseas warehouses. By directly shipping from overseas warehouses, she brought local consumers a better logistics experience when choosing Chinese cross-border products, and made her store popular in Southeast Asia. Choosing power tools to go to Southeast Asia is particularly difficult for female entrepreneurs. Fu Dan said that until now she still insists on constantly updating her cross-border e-commerce knowledge and operational skills by participating in various training courses and signing up for the "Lazada Knowledge Base ".
Li Ping, a post-95s entrepreneur, has tried e-commerce since college. After graduating from college, she chose to go to Yiwu, the "Chinese Small Commodity Capital", to start her own business. In 2019, Li Ping officially joined Lazada. From renting a rough house as a warehouse and office at the beginning, to now forming a team of more than ten people to successfully sell sports and outdoor products to Southeast Asian countries, she has become a vivid example of Yiwu's post-95s small and medium-sized businesses joining the overseas torrent. Li Ping said that starting a business overseas is more complicated than the familiar environment in China, but in fact, it is also in the process of honing personal will that one can enhance one's professional ability, thereby guaranteeing women's right to speak.
Lazada, which is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary and the 3.27 Bday birthday promotion, has fully launched all kinds of new annual promotion methods. Lazada was founded in 2012 and has been Alibaba's flagship e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia since 2016. It currently operates in six markets: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. According to the latest data from Alibaba's Investor Day at the end of last year, Lazada already has 130 million annual active consumers in Southeast Asia.
