Check it out! Many sellers received a refund from Amazon

Starting this week, Amazon has implemented a number of fee changes, which has caused widespread complaints from sellers. In addition, some sellers received insurance notification emails yesterday, discovering that the insurance fee on Amazon's backend has increased by 1,000 yuan this week , and the insurance plan requirements are higher.

Amid a series of rising expenses, some sellers finally received good news. Due to previous calculation errors, Amazon will refund the erroneous charges from September to October last year . Have you received the email?

Many sellers will receive a refund from Amazon

Yesterday, a seller posted an email saying that Amazon will now issue a refund to the seller due to a previous calculation error:

Amazon notified the relevant sellers in the email that due to errors in calculating referral fees and shipping chargebacks, incorrect fees were charged to their seller accounts between September 30 and October 11, 2021. Amazon will issue a lump sum refund to the seller account to correct this error.

Refunds can be found in the Date Range Report in Seller Central. To generate a Date Range Report, follow these steps: 1. On Seller Central, go to Reports and select Payments. 2. Select Date Range Report and click Generate Report. 3. In the Generate Date Range Report pop-up menu, select Report Type: Transaction. 4. Select the report range: Month or Custom, and the specified date information.

Many sellers said they had also received the email. Sellers joked, is this a Spring Festival subsidy from Amazon? However, since the email was sent in bulk, the amount is estimated to be small. Even a small ant leg is meat, especially after a series of fee increases, this refund can be said to be a little comfort.

As the Spring Festival approaches, the work of most domestic cross-border e-commerce companies is about to come to an end, but Amazon does not consider this. In 2021, many sellers were anxious because of limited storage capacity and inability to ship goods. And this week, some sellers' replenishment quantity has increased twice in a row. "Amazon has increased the storage capacity again. It's a holiday and it has increased it twice in one week. It's speechless."

After hearing this, the sellers checked the storage capacity and found that it had indeed increased. However, as the holiday is approaching, some people said that the pre-holiday replenishment plan has been completed and they don’t want to ship anymore. Even if they want to ship, they can’t find people to pack. However, if they don’t ship, they are worried that the storage capacity will be reduced when they want to ship after the New Year. They are very entangled. So can they build it first and then ship after the New Year? Some sellers reminded that they should pay attention to Amazon’s new policy. Building a plan too early or canceling it may result in rejection of storage.

On January 19, Amazon’s logistics shipment policy was updated, which stated that if sellers send canceled or deleted shipments to Amazon, Amazon may refuse to accept them and the seller’s other shipping permissions may also be suspended.

Amazon advises sellers to specify shipment information and ensure quantity and route are correct when creating inbound plans and shipments to avoid shipment delays. One point is mentioned: "Please communicate with your carrier to ensure that your shipment is delivered to the address on the Amazon Logistics box ID label as soon as possible, no later than 30 days."

The 30-day limit has caused discussion among sellers: "This is unrealistic, it basically takes more than 45 days." "30 days, that's too rushed!" "For sea transportation, basically only the Mason Express can be used, and sometimes air transportation can't arrive in 30 days."

Amazon announced several new policies this week, some of which have already taken effect, in addition to insurance requirements and fee increases for some sellers.

Amazon Insurance raises prices dramatically, sellers go crazy

Yesterday, many sellers found that the price of Amazon insurance has increased again, and the price increase is very large.

One seller said that he received an email from Amazon asking him to buy insurance in a month. When he clicked on the PICC insurance page to buy it, he found that the insurance price had increased from 1,280 yuan to 2,280 yuan. The price suddenly soared like a roller coaster.

Soon after, more sellers found that the price on the page where they purchased insurance had also increased . Originally, there were Plan One and Plan Two to choose from, but now only Plan Two can be chosen. Plan One is no longer available, and the price of Plan Two is 2,280 yuan.

Sellers were collectively furious about this, and their collective doubts can be summed up in one sentence: "The price has risen so much, are you just cutting the leeks?"

The previous price of 1280 was also confirmed by many sellers, and many sellers who had bought insurance said that it was this price before. A seller who just bought insurance last Saturday also said that he bought it for 1280, and fortunately he bought it a few days ago.

Now, seeing the price increase, the sellers are getting restless. Some have started to consult PICC’s online customer service, trying to understand the situation, but they have waited for a long time without receiving a reply from the customer service.

A person who claimed to be Guangzhou PICC ** responded to this matter in the seller group. In response to the seller's questioning of the insurance price increase, he said: " This is done by Marsh and Shanghai PICC . Anyway, our charges have been reduced . It used to be $500 and now it is $300 . The price increase may be due to the increase in sales, or the risk of the things sold is high . "

In response to this, Yienjun contacted PICC staff to inquire about the changes in insurance prices. As of press time, PICC had not responded.

In addition to the price increase of PICC, some sellers have found that other channels for purchasing insurance have also seen some price increases.

It is understood that among the several insurance companies listed by Amazon for sellers to choose from, PICC is one of them. Because it is recommended by the platform, many sellers will purchase through this channel. Now its price has risen sharply, which undoubtedly increases the costs of sellers.

On the Amazon platform, the number of sellers who need to purchase insurance is very large. From September 1, 2021 , sellers on Amazon with sales of US$10,000 for three consecutive months must purchase product liability insurance. With the formal implementation of this regulation, sellers who meet the requirements will basically have to purchase insurance.

In October 2021, the scope of Amazon sellers purchasing insurance expanded again. Some sellers' stores with monthly sales of less than US$10,000 also received requirements from Amazon to provide proof of insurance. Therefore, monthly sales of US$10,000 is not a hard indicator.

According to Amazon's relevant notice, if there is no insurance, on the one hand, Amazon will seek compensation from the seller for the costs of resolving the claim, and on the other hand, it may restrict the seller from selling goods in specific categories, or even suspend the account until the seller provides proof of insurance.

As time goes by, after October 2021, sellers have received emails from Amazon asking them to provide proof of insurance. According to previous emails sent by Amazon, if the insurance proof is not received within 60 days, the seller may have their payment withheld; if the insurance proof cannot be verified within 90 days, the seller may be prohibited from continuing to sell on Amazon.com.

Therefore, after receiving the email about purchasing insurance, sellers will basically complete the purchase within a specific time. As the platform scales up, many sellers seem to have accepted the reality of purchasing insurance.

However, as one of the insurance platforms available for sellers on the Amazon platform, PICC’s sudden price increase has made some sellers feel disgusted and confused: “Will other insurance channels increase prices?”

In the past 2021, due to the increase in various costs, the profit margins of Amazon sellers were severely squeezed, and everyone’s voice was: Don’t increase the insurance cost anymore!
