As the Black Friday war came to an end, the Black Friday sales results of various countries were announced one after another. Although the Black Friday sales in the United States this year did not make a big splash, in Russia, it broke the sales record for the same period in the past five years.
According to a report by the Association of Internet Trade Companies ( AKIT), Russians spent a total of about 85.7 billion rubles during the three days of the Black Friday promotion, 2.2 times more than last year and setting a new sales record.
AKIT stressed that according to current data and observations over the years, it can be seen that Russians have developed the habit of purchasing various goods online and have sufficient trust in online shopping and its promotions.
YuMoney, a financial technology company, also released the latest data, showing that online payments in Russia increased by 66%, turnover increased by 73%, and the number of payers increased by 76% during Black Friday this year , reflecting that Russian consumers still showed a high enthusiasm for consumption under the epidemic.
In addition to the growth in the number of consumers and sales, the number of sellers has also increased this year. Anton Rumyantsev, head of OFD.ru financial data operator , said that this year nearly 300,000 entrepreneurs displayed their goods on the market, 100,000 more than last year, and they prefer to conduct business such as sales on the Internet.
According to OFD.ru ’s analysis, from January to now, online registrations of entrepreneurs have increased by 73%, limited liability companies by 29%, and other forms of sellers by 139%, indicating that many business sellers have high expectations for the Russian market.
In terms of consumer goods, clothing and footwear became the "sales champion" of Black Friday in Russia this year , accounting for 30% of total online sales. Last year, electronics and home appliances ranked first on Black Friday.
Secondly, the sales rankings were household and summer supplies, electronic products and household appliances, children's food and commodities, all of which had good sales performance during this year's Black Friday. Among them, clothing, footwear and food had the largest growth, reaching about 3 times.
AKIT also found in the survey that jewelry consumption is also optimistic this year, with some sales even increasing by 5-6 times.
In addition to goods, Russians also actively purchased online services during Black Friday, such as training courses, gift certificates, concerts and theaters, sports events, movie tickets, etc. The expenditure on such goods reached 33.5 billion rubles, which shows that Russian consumers also attach great importance to spiritual consumption.
